CONGRESS CLUB - Bar in Stevens Point - 1200 Park St, USA

Have only lived in Stevens Point for one year but have luckily found the Congress Club as our local watering hole. The sisters that run the place are fantastic! Super friendly and personable. The interior of the bar is great. Highly recommend! Parking is rather interesting!

Terrible hospitality. Good Drinks. Came in to rest after work and hang out with a friend to talk but was immediately told by the bartender that we where loitering and it's a business so we had to buy something or leave. Having a good environment for customers to want to continue to return to is essential in running a long running business. we were not buying anything at this visit but would have in future visits but because of this response we will not return due to the atmosphere not feeling like we can just sit and have a good chat for 30 mins. sure if we are taking up seats that other customers could have used it would be understandable. sorry we where breathing your air without paying for it. dropped a $5 tip for her troubles I hope it keeps the doors open.

I start every good night here. Between the employees, patrons, and atmosphere I have a good time, everytime I show up.

Nice open space... because it's usually not busy. Probably because the drinks are over-priced and the owners are snobs.

Stopped in for Halloween, but haven't been here in years. It is otherwise a nice go-to bar as it's not too small even when busy.

I hadn't been here in over 40 years! I walked in and met the owner's daughter. I had a couple drinks and then the owner walked in...It was great to rekindle old memories and drink a PBR for old times sake...A trip down memory lane for me... I'm back on September 8th at 3:30 pm drinking a bottle of Coors Light, reminiscing about the good old days with people who weren't born in 1980...I'll be back...

I don't want to be rude but this was literally the worst experience I've ever had. By far. I literally ordered a water at a bar that had two people prior to us arriving and she threw my ID on the ground towards another individual and that was after I left a two dollar tip for free water. I've never ben so treated so badly at an establishment.

I haven't been here in a while, but the employees have changed and were extremely rude when I tried to buy a couple pitchers of beer. Rachael the bartender insisted I get the IDs kd my friends in order to get some beer so I did. When I returned she said she wanted everybody's IDs which I didnt know everybody because there were two separate parties there. I took my money and didnt spend a dime. I'll go downtown or to Partners next time. I dont see why she couldn't have done her job and came over to check evergbodies IDs. My sister told me that she tried to get a pitcher of water because it was nearing the end of the night and she had been playing pool there. The male bartender told her that she cant be loitering. What the hell? Not what it used to be. Sad face.
