I spent 5 hours here and it was 1000% worth it! If there's only one thing you can do in mountain view, this is it!! It was mind blowing to see some many artifacts from pre-calculators to super computers to video games consoles. It was super cool to see all of this and how computers and technology have evolved over time.

Anyone that is interested in technology and in the area should make the time to visit this museum. You probably need 3-4 hours if you like to read everything, and about 2 if you go through the museum and read only what you're interested in. We joined a tour that lasted one hour and our tour guide did an exceptional presentation highlighting the most significant developments in computer history (the 1st computer, the first electronic computer, the SAGE project, the first programmable chip).

The Computer History Museum in San Jose is a captivating journey through the evolution of computing technology. From early mechanical calculators to modern supercomputers, the exhibits offer a comprehensive look at our digital past. Engaging displays and interactive experiences make it a must-visit for tech enthusiasts and history buffs alike. The museum's collection of vintage computers and rare artifacts is impressive. However, some areas might benefit from more detailed explanations. Overall, a fantastic place to explore the fascinating world of computers and their impact on society.

The place was so cool! Learned a lot about the history and upcoming of modern day computers. There were a bunch of hands on and interactive activities, videos, and phone audios that you could listen to learn more about each section. There were 20+ sections so definitely plan on being there for at least an hr or two. Took a bunch of nice photos, but only attached a few. So worth it!

One of my favourite place to visit in the Silicon Valley. It's informative and educational. You don't have to be a geek or CS major studnet to visit here. CHM is not just about technology, it also has a collective memoery of social and economic changes. We come here to see "The Way We Were".

One of the Must Visit places in Bay Area. Very well maintained and on display the journey of computers. Bank of America card holders entry is Free. This museum needs 3/4 hours to complete. They have a nice Cafe on campus. Parking shouldn't be a problem.

As a scientist & engineer, I find this museum well put together and enjoyable! The only thing I regretted was that I did not give myself more time to immerse in all the exhibits, text and video presentations. I would spend 2-3 hours if I had the time! (If you are a BofA customer, you get to go free)

Absolutely one of the best museums I have been to. I am surprised by how inconspicuous or relatively low profile this museum is. But the content is breathtaking. Everything from ancient mathematical instruments (Antikythera mechanism, abacus) to punched cards powered weaving machines to the history of storage and memory to the Enigma machines to the evolution of personal computers (think IBM v Apple v Microsoft). I highly recommend that you go for the 1 hour guided tour followed by spending another hour browsing through the museum yourself. Our guide, Kim, was an older man who lived in Palo Alto and had a front row seat to Steve Job and Wozniak’s debut of the first Apple I computer.
