Community Playground - Playground in Winter Park - 255 S Denning Dr, USA

This park was so cool - it's not every day you get to go to a wooden play structure! The play area is fenced in, though we noticed that many people didn't care about closing the gate. There's a smaller play structure for little ones right next to the bigger play structure. There's a covered seating pavilion area along with benches & tables around the play area & a restroom facility. The ground is woodchips & there are trees within the play area that many kids enjoyed attempting to climb. The only thing that can be difficult is you can easily lose your kid in the structure as sight lines aren't great but if you don't care about that or if you're okay walking around the structure to look for them a bit, you're good to go.

We have been to this playground a few times and every time we had a lot of fun! The location of the playground is also wonderful, you get to go to Trader Joe’s or Winter Park Village afterwards and there are so many restaurants and stores nearby. There are also plenty of parking spaces for the playground, we usually arrive around 10am and there are still many spots left. However, it does get busy in the afternoon especially when there’s birthday party on the weekends. To maximize the fun I would suggest to bring food and have a picnic there instead of just stopping by, on our last visit we did a picnic and was able to enjoy 4.5 hours there. There are a few sets of tables with chairs around the playground as well as benches. There is also a bathroom with diaper changing table available! On the other side of the playground there is a big pavilion where you can make reservation for birthday parties and they post the date/time on the notice board. There are also a lot of trash and recycle cans around this playground making it really easy to dispose any garage that you may have from having a picnic there. I also absolutely love the fact that this playground is completely fenced off, you still need to keep an eye on the kids since there are several gates but it is so much easier and safer here than other open playground especially with a lake nearby. The playground itself is made of wood, very sturdy and especially beautiful for pictures. The ground is covered in mulch with a concrete path in front of the parking lot fence gates that connects the pavilion and the bathroom. This playground has slides, swings (both baby ones and big kids ones), towers and a lot of hideouts. It is great for younger kids playing with friends or making instant new friends (suggested age is 2-12). One of the most important thing is that this playground is almost completely shaded since it has a lot of big trees. This is definitely a huge blessing especially in Florida’s hot weather. Overall we love this playground and would be making a lot of future visits soon.

This park is a hidden gem. The layout is a series of long connecting tree house type play areas, and play forts for kids. Fully fenced in with ample seating and a pavilion. This park has a little bit of everything from swings to slides to utter bliss for kids. The area is located next to a lake for nice scenery and a mellow vibe. The area is highly maintained with landscaping and trash pick up.

The girls loved this playground so much room to run around and it mimics a treehouse. We walked around and enjoyed the beautiful nature and all it has to offer.

One of the last grand old wooden playgrounds (for a bit longer at least). A world of castles and slides, secret tunnels and hidden nooks. We'll miss it when it's gone.

Love the wooden "castles" the kids play on (although some parts seem made by a lunatic, as there are steps leading to nowhere, etc. LoL) & there are LOTS of ducks hanging around all over the park! Nicely shaded & plenty of covered picnic tables, as well as extra benches for Grandma (or if you're the kind of parent who likes to sit & watch instead of participate)! We had lots of fun & will be back!

Castle Park in WP is pretty great. However, keep your eyes on your kids. The park is part of a greater complex and is on the outside of the complex. The parking is pretty tight and has several was for kids to escape... The wooden structures are well weathered in a good way and the corners are rounded. The castle is very strong and solid. Fantastic for kids 4-8. There is a multi table covered gazebo and several round metal tables and benches scattered around the park right next to the play area. There is a water fountain and (2) 1 person bathrooms.

The playground is really fun for kids of all ages. The playground itself is made out of wood blending into the nature surrounded. Also, across from the playground is a free weight fitness.
