Comfort Suites Normal University area - Hotel in Normal - 310B Greenbriar Dr, USA

We were pleased with the hotel - we felt it was clean and the king size bed we had was very comfortable. Good size room, we had a couch, a desk and an extra chair that was comfortable to sit in. The breakfast was great - we were there on Sat & Sun mornings and there were mini egg/cheese omelets, sausages, and diced potatoes on Saturday. Oatmeal, wafflemaker, yogurt, cereal, bakery - plenty to choose from in our opinion. A staff member was there tidying up and replenishing. Oh, and a nice big water dispenser in the lobby with lemon infused water - a nice touch in our opinion. We didn't use the pool but looked around inside the pool area and it looked clean and well maintained. The staff was very friendly, parking was plentiful, and location was convenient. The one drawback, and this is not the fault of the hotel, is the very loud geese! Our room faced the Walmart parking lot and the geese seemed to enjoy hanging out at Walmart and made a ton of noise as soon as it started to get light out. I don't know if it's just in spring or what, but I'd suggest bringing good earplugs or having a white noise app running on your phone, that would help! We'd stay there again, though, we felt it was a great hotel!

CLEANLINESS!!! What stands out is the cleanliness as soon you walk into the hotel and your room. Staff is friendly and helpful. The room is a good size for a family of 5 or 6 and over sufficient for a family of 4. I can see why I need to book early at this hotel. Was short of a perfect 10 because the breakfast can be better. Do recommend and will stay here again.

When purchasing a hotel room to stay in regardless of the price there is a certain level of expectations and unfortunately this hotel was an unfortunate letdown. We will not be returning unless grave changes are made. We paid and booked the room online and upon arrival the front desk lady was kind but very confused because we weren't charged for our dog. She apologized and said their systems just had a massive update a few days ago, no problem we paid the pet fee. We used the hotel bathroom down the hall the door knob was completely falling off that the door wasn't able to be locked and no privacy due to the thing falling off. The toilet in that bathroom also has flushing issues. We used the pool it needs a grout cleaning desperately, there is broken tile in random areas, and worst of all the metal ladder near the entrance is broken just hanging there with sharp edges waiting for an accident to happen! Please be careful using this pool and avoid that ladder! Our room was unsettling. Room 123 first floor the door was miserably painted with paint on the peephole. The deadbolt looks as if someone ripped it off and is dented up with a replacement. The door doesn't seal without both deadlocks locked. There was multiple unclean walls, refrigerator, spider webs all over the ceiling, the couch had white stains, there was a grocery bag hanging on the ceiling over the fire detector, we called the front desk she informed us she didn't know why there was a grocery bag up there and that we could take it down. The key cards are very fickle and take a few slides to actually read in the side door and our room door. Also the shower curtain is on the shorter side so you must pay close attention to make sure every little bit of it is in the shower otherwise you will end up with a puddle on the floor. Our bathroom sink was missing a drain plug, there was brown stuff wiped on the wall right next to the light switch. The room heater was filthy with hair and dust and makes a rattling noise while running. The tv is mounted crooked. The sode door outdoor area is loaded with broken glass in the rock area and grass area so be careful if you have pets and children! The pros are limited to the bed was clean and comfortable, The noise level was quite, front desk was friendly, front desk areas seemed clean, microwave worked well, shower, toilet were cleaned. Pet friendly hotel. Our family agreed this hotel has potential but it needs massive maintenance issues addressed as well as housekeeping issues. Unfortunately I don't think this hotel would pass an inspection at this time but I hope they can make the improvements for the future of the establishment.

Positive: The staff was kind. The hotel we booked was oversold, so we were given a room at the property across the parking lot. After that room had broken A/C, we were moved. The hotel comped us two breakfasts for two days as a gesture. Thank you. Negative: It's a bit tired and dirty in the outside.

Positive: Location to family Negative: They decided to shock the pool on a Sun at 8am. It is already closed every night from midnight -6:00. Can?t they shock it then? The back of the bathroom door looked like it hadn?t been cleaned in a long time. The toilet tipped when you sat on it.

Positive: The location and overall feel of the hotel is excellent. The breakfast was okay, missing some items that might otherwise have made it excellent. Negative: The room itself was missing some levels of detail; paint pealing, stains in shower, hair dryer not working, etc. Otherwise it was a very clean room and comfortable accomodations. Not the newest and most modern place, but our room was clean and spacious. Our bed (a true king size) was very comfortable and I actually rested well which I hardly do when traveling. We only stayed 1 night, but if in town, I would try them again.
