Comfort Suites New Bern near Cherry Point - Hotel in New Bern - 1006 Old Cherry Point Rd, USA

Positive: Breakfast is extremely easy. The food area is very clean and tidy. There?s a wonderful staff member that makes sure of that. The food is delicious! The beds are extremely comfortable. The staff is nice, very friendly and professional. So welcoming! Negative: I am most displeased with the state of the room? carpet stained and torn Torn. The tub and toilet are dirty and rusty. Crawling roach in bathroom. Dirty walls. Terrible views. There are construction work and mayhem surrounding every area.

I went home to see my mother and needed a room for couple of nights. Nothing else was available but here. I won't stay here again. I was aware of the construction going on in James City so the hotel is hidden off of 70E behind a mound of dirt. So this isn't their fault. The hotel has been updated, but the cleanliness I question. Our room was clean to the eye, but once you began to look around it was nasty. I always Lysol my hotel room no matter where I go. My daughter's bed had stained sheets and hair in the bed. We had dead bug carcass stuck in the bathroom air vent. The bathroom door had some kind of black dust stuck underneath it. That left residue on the bathroom tiles. Ewwwww. There was dried food in the carpet and a hole in the carpet. The room smelled like there was mold somewhere in the ventilation. The water pressure wasn't the best. Now the ladies at the front desk were friendly and helpful. The lady that serviced the breakfast each morning did a wonderful job keeping it replenished. The breakfast was good. Sorry to say the cleanliness factor needs improvement.

Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good. Each day we were there they had eggs, potatoes, sausage, waffle maker, chocolate chip muffins, cereal, etc. The shower didn’t have great pressure and toilet was hard to flush. When it did flush, water came out of the tank. I would stay here again. WiFi did not work on the 3rd floor where we were at and cell service didn’t seem great either with AT&T.

Though the hotel looks relatively new on the outside, the rooms leave much to be desired. The bed was horrible. The foot of the bed was higher than the head. The floor was dirty. The refrigerator was clean on the inside, but the outside was rusted. The bathroom had the lowest water pressure I’ve ever experienced. The water literally kept going off while I tried to shower. We didn’t bother with the breakfast. Also the fees charged for the night were more than 50% of the cost of the room. What the heck is that all about. Needless to say, we won’t be staying there again.

Love the convenience and the friendly staff! A few friends and I stayed here overnight on August 2nd. The hotel is convenient, the rooms were clean, the breakfast was great and the staff was very friendly. Could not have asked for more. We stayed here because there is a Men’s conference down the road once a year that we attend.

This aging facility would benefit from room renovations. I don't mind that the furniture shows some wear and the walls could use a fresh coat of paint. The threadbare carpet with ragged or missing patches made me wish I'd packed my slippers. The beds are new, but too firm for my comfort. I did appreciate the A/C that did an excellent job cooling the room. All in all, I'll probably pay a little more on my next visit for a facility that's been better maintained.

We did a long wkend in New Bern. I thought this hotel was in the downtown area, but it was like a mile or two away. There was also an odd odor in the hallways n upon entering my room. The hotel staff were outstanding! The room was comfy.

The worst I have ever seen this place. In suite hot tub was absolutely disgusting. I never even used it. The room had roaches crawling all over the wall. The curtains were hanging on a broken curtain rod. Lastly, the elevator never worked the entire time I stayed there. The 4th floor climb of the stairs the entire time was not fun with luggage. This location deserves 0 stars, and I do not recommend anybody book a room and waste their money staying here. This used to be my favorite location, but now I will never ever book here again. It's an absolute dump now.
