My only problem was with the manager and assistant manager. They tried over pricing me for literally everything. They would tell me a certain price then I would ask 2nd and 3rd shift and they would tell me a completely different story. Manager tried to charge me 165 for a room when I’m a platinum member with a %rate on my room then 2nd shift would only charge me 95 when I asked them. Got an ice cream bar for $2 on 3rd shift went to get another before work the very next morning assistant GM said that exact same bar was $8. It was so bad I had to go through 2nd shift for everything $ related. Other than that the stay was great.
The staff was excellent. Friendly, helpful and professional.||The room was ok. The sliding mirror doors were off the tracks and didn't open and close easily. Sometimes not at all. And the windows do not open even a crack, so the room would get a bit stuffy.||But we will not return because they had Fox "news" playing in the dining room during breakfast. We will not patronize establishments that play that turd propaganda. Ever.
Stayed 2 nights for eclipse. Rooms and facility very clean. All employees we interacted with were polite and professional. This is a very very well run facility.
Greeted by the front desk as soon as I walked in the door. They provided me with all the amenities the hotel had to offer. The breakfast was outstanding just over the moon, and the room was clean and the bed very comfortable with lots of pillows. And to top it off at the end of the day nothing better than freshly baked cookies, sitting in the lobby awaiting your return from a long day in meetings. Thank you.
The hotel staff is great. Our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is dated, and needs to be updated, but it was close to our convention site and convenience counts for something, too! The breakfast choices are good and the coffee is always hot.
We have been staying in this hotel for decades. The manager is extremely customer centric And that philosophy is instilled in all the staff. They renovate this hotel frequently so it never looks worn. They do a nice job with a self-serve breakfast which is really convenient when you have your kids and grandkids along. They have a heated indoor pool also, which is nice when you have down time. And being right on Dirksen, it's easy to get to, and convenient to part from for activities in the Springfield area. We highly recommend staying here If you are looking for a hotel for a fair price, that is always clean.
Wonderful hotel. Very clean. Bed was so comfortable with lots of pillows. HBO. huge breakfast with walnuts, eggs, sausage, apples,waffles big yogurt. Pool is warm and has a deep end.
My only suggestion is better coffee pots in the room.
Staff very friendly. Erica helped us get just the right room for us. The other desk lady was excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again.
The hotel was nice but nothing special. The room was clean and everything in the room worked. Checkin and checkout went smoothly. The lobby and breakfast area didn’t seem to be as vibrant as other hotels maybe because of the lighting. There is a restaurant within walking distance, Smokey Bones, where we decided to eat dinner. The food was good and the server was friendly and accommodating. My wife would say the only problem was the TV that didn’t have the Hallmark channel so we didn’t get to watch the Christmas movies. Breakfast was your normal hotel breakfast, but it appeared you were on your own if you had a problem as we didn’t see anyone working the area. Did not use any of the amenities such as pool and exercise area.

I love this place ! Just have one minor complaint; they recently got rid of jalapeños and stopped cutting their veggies into smaller pieces - so the chunks are bigger. I usually add jalapeños when I get home and cut my veggies.
Nice people, great coffee (that they roast themselves) and a relaxing atmosphere! They have more than just vanilla for sugar free syrups too! The sugar free white chocolate was yummy. The cream cheese Danish was fresh, tasty and enough for 2 to share
This is an old city experience that reminded me of neighborhoods in old east coast cities like Boston or Philadelphia. It's a quiant neighborhood bar and restaurant with the atmosphere of a 90 year old place that hasn't changed very much. Loved it. T
