Comfort Suites Kings Bay Naval Base Area - Featured Reviews (567)
Our stay was amazing. The front desk both evening and day shift were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and we slept great. Yes the pool is closed due to unforeseen circumstances but not the hotels fault. The cookies and popcorn were awesome and a big help for our family. It was affordable and the pet fee was a great price. Breakfast was great we got it first thing in morning and it was fresh. I am glad I didn’t listen to the bad reviews on here because our stay was great and we felt safe. Thank you so much.
Where do I even begin?? First, this hotel doesn't even deserve 1 star. After traveling/driving 13 hours, we needed to stop for the night. I reserved 2 rooms. I checked in, and the woman charged my card and handed me the keys. Apparently, it is up to the guest to ask the important questions. So, I had to ask about the breakfast, pool, etc. She explained that the pool was closed due to the owner using the wrong paint, (he used latex and it peeled into the pool water causing a health hazard) so he had to correct it. However, that was over 2 1/2 months ago, and he is still sitting around not doing it. This came straight from her mouth!|So, no pool. Not a big deal.|When we get to our rooms, one of them had a door knob that was so loose it wouldn't turn properly. Again, we could deal with it. However, when we walked inside and right in the walkway was a portable dehumidifier, I knew something wasn't right. The air conditioning was not cooling the room, and the dehumidifiers both had a red light saying full and wouldn't turn on.|The temperature never got below 75 in the room, and this is in the hottest part of summer!|One of the rooms I heard a crunch when I walked near the bed, only to find crumbled dry mud from someone's shoes all over. Probably from work boots, as there were construction vehicles in the parking lot. The shades on the lamps had water stains, and there were water stains all over the ceiling. Cigarette burns on comforter.|The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. There wasn't any fixture that wasn't covered in rust. There were short curly hairs in the sink and bathtub. Toilet had urine running down the front and on the sides where the screws were. Make sure you have your tetanus shot if you stay here!|Breakfast- if you can even call it that. There were about 6-8 moldy apples in dirty bowls. There was a waffle maker, but waffle mix was empty. Poured some cereal into a bowl and it was stale. WE decided to go to Dunkin down the street, as this breakfast was inedible and after seeing how the hotel is run, not sure I would risk eating food there.
Upon arriving we met the security front desk clerk. One way in and out. She's there to make you feel completely uncomfortable. I have a 4.5 lb chichuchua that's 16.5 years old with a heart condition. I was charged $35 each night for him. Next morning I found his service dog card. I took it to the desk to see if they could refund the pet payment. The manager got on the phone with me wanting to know how he was considered a rescue dog and told me he was not. When I stood up to her , you'd her it's a federal offense for what she was saying and I was told to leave. Mind you it's 9 am chichi had to eat to take his heart medication and I'm told to leave. I packed us up, left and drove to 4 different hotels to try and get an early check-in. The Hampton Inn was wonderful and allowed me to check in at 10:15 am so I could feed my fur baby and administer his heart medication. The comfort suits is definitely not pet friendly. The cost alone proves that. I paid one payment for my 3 night stay at Hampton Inn. The worst treatment I've ever experienced traveling and staying in hotels.
This is a very clean place that appears to have been updated in public areas. (Some of the wooden furniture in guest rooms shows wear, but the room was very clean.) The receptionist was pleasant and efficient and accommodated my room request and answered all questions. They provide popcorn, cookies and nachos with queso for late afternoon snacks. There is beverage and snack vending in the lobby that can be charged to your room or paid for. It is a little tricky finding the hotel as it's behind another one and not visible from the main road. I knew this in advance from friends who stayed here, so I studied the area map which helped me.
The treatment me and my dog received is criminal. My chichuchua 4.8lbs is 16.5 years old and now on heart medication. He has to eat before his medication. I felt the $35 a day charge was high. I was staying 2 and possibly 3 days. That's $105 extra for a pad trained tiny dog. It dawned on me 14 years ago he was my service dog. Modern medication and his age he's not had to wake me up to breath so it slipped my mind. Going through my wallet I found his service card. I took it to the front desk in hope of having the pet charge refunded. I was told by the manager to leave the motel. It's 9am chichi hasn't eaten or had his medication. I pack us up and leave. After 4 other hotels I found the 5th at the Hampton Inn and was welcomed, given an early checkin so chichi could eat and get his medication. They were and are a blessing and definitely pet friendly. What a stressful ordeal I was in tears. I do not recommend comfort suits at all. Definitely not pet friendly!!!
It's alright.... You do get what you pay for! The unexpected dynamic was when I was in the room, and they had a dehumidifier in there due to the high humidity present in the hotel.... I eventually had to cut it off during the night because it would keep turning on automatically about every few minutes. Secondly: They need to replace the door anchors and some of the railings, as they had noticeable rust on them, which made me think twice about putting a towel or wash cloth on them. Thirdly: When using the desk, there was some kind of film on it, so I literally covered the desk top with a towel in order to work on it. It may have been something as harmless as wood cleaner, but that will need to be wiped clean before anyone actually uses a room. Carpet will need to be replaced (as well as many hotels of this caliber), as well as the sofa, as they showed their years of wear and tear. Aside from those issues, the service was top notch, and the breakfast was good! The guy at the front desk was very professional and courteous. The picture of the room itself was after I used it, and was about to leave, so that is not a reflection of the housekeeping at all, as they had it arranged neatly when I came in. Honestly, going forward, unless it is absolutely necessary, I'll have no need to come back again until these issues are resolved.
Very pleasant staff! Love the evening cookies—so happy not chocolate chip! Room spacious & clean. Finally a room with quiet AC/heat! Wonderful to have 5 AM breakfast! We travel early so it worked perfectly—and smiles and pleasant “good morning” even at that hour! We would recommend and would stay here again.
We are fortunate enough to travel a fair amount and this Comfort Inn is one of the nicest we have ever stayed at. Most Comfort Inns are clean and comfortable, but this one takes great pride in giving the people who stay there the best possible experience. The rooms were very nice. The wifi was fast. The breakfast was good. We just felt that the management and employees take great pride in helping you in any way possible. The rates were also reasonable.

We booked this hotel for a week and were pleasantly surprised by the hot breakfast provided every morning. The room was cozy and clean and the workout room was well stocked. It is off season so we didn't get to use the pool or hot tub (outside) but

Iâve had lunch and dinner here on multiple occasions. Oftentimes the lunch turns into dinner with the amount of food they give you. Food is fresh, tastes phenomenal, and is priced more than reasonable.
