Comfort Suites Golden Isles Gateway - Hotel in Brunswick - 220 Gateway Center Blvd, USA

I was only going to review this for them, but after reading that they have not listened to other guest, I'm making it more public, in hopes of allowing you, the reader, a better experience. In a tourist city, with many tourist cities nearby, thus options for stays, this hotel should lower their price and begin renovation even if it is little by little. The shower facet was loose. I had to hold it in place to disengage the shower. There was no shower head. The toilet was also loose. The cabinet door to the fridge remained opened, which could’ve been easily remedied with a pair of pliers. One lamp shade was cracked with a burned-out bulb. The carpet was rippled. The mattress needed to be changed. It had permanent grooves. The pillows likewise were bunched up cotton. I thought that they had filled it with pieces of chopped up foam. If these details weren’t enough, upon checking in, I was told that the amenities which they promised were not available—no pool, no exercise room, and no laundry. With the receptionist wearing a mask and gloves and dosing alcohol on items, I wondered what hazards awaited. Were all these closed because they knew that there was something wrong? I have been traveling for some months now in new hotels each night. This is a no stay. The sad situation is that most of it could easily be made right. It is surrounded by hotels, with the same price-point, but surely for, higher quality. I hope that the hotel owners recognize that with some work, the hotel will be a loss. I don't want that.

The area of town was a perfect location for where we needed to go, and the night attendant was so friendly. She made us feel welcome, and was very attentive to our needs. The day time staff at the desk wasn't as friendly, but the maid on our floor was so nice.

Positive: NOTHING Negative: It smelled like stale cigarettes. The comforters had holes in it. The room was dirty. The telephone didn?t work. The bed sunk in the middle and the bathroom was dirty and it needs to be updated. I will never stay there again. Room 217

Filthy hotel with deplorable customer service. Upon arriving staff was very rude…grunting or one word answers. Upon seeing the state of the room, we almost left for another hotel…but it was almost 10pm with 3 kids and a long day of driving. Lamp shades broken and stained. Desk chair broken. Walls stained and chipped. Cabinets that were so broken they wouldn’t close. Only one light in bathroom worked. You could see on the wall in the bathroom where the hand towel rack used to be installed. Rusty outlets and screws. Just disgusting. It’s clear no one cares for this place both in the service and in the rooms. There was also an extremely loud fan(?), vacuum(?), machine(?) running all night near the lobby. Just disgusting all the way around. Bedding appeared clean(?) (let’s hope!) but the bed itself was in need of serious replacement. We couldn’t wait to leave! I wish I’d turned around and walked out as soon as the desk clerk made it clear I was ruining his night by coming into the hotel and asking for a room. (Which I actually did have to ask for a room, because when he saw me he just rudely said: “yeah?!”)

Positive: The price was great. Negative: Staff was not so inviting. Pool and the fitness room were closed. I booked the room for 4 days and only stayed 1 day. Was not what I expected. The elevators smelled like someone was smoking weed in them. Would not recommend. Negative: ""

This hotel was like super 8 or motel 6 even tho There was many paint chipping like it falling apart, wall paper in the hallway are pealing, the blankets has bleach strains, the lamp were rusted, the lamps shade are breaking apart. this hotel is still sorta has COVID 19 withdrawal but I don't blame them for being cautious about it. One thing is bad is that all ice machine for each floors are broken so you have to keep asking for ice, so please get it repaired ASAP. The breakfast was ok. Meh, if you are just looking for a good night stay for short time this would be it because it still comfortable because it an comfort hotel 😉.

Positive: Great hot breakfast options (eggs, sausage, gravy, grits, biscuits, waffles) Staff was really great! Room was very clean & comfortable. Looks like they have some updates coming but we were very pleased, especially for the pricing. Negative: The exterior needs a paint job and the awning may be about to be replaced. I had hoped to use the exercise room but it was closed. Negative: ""

This hotel is so dated and looks nothing like the photos online. The lobby is decent and clean but the rooms are falling apart. The mattress was literally wilting, pillows are lumpy and the bathroom had paint chipping off the tub, rust all on the walls and it just looked like it hasn’t been refurbished since they opened. ||Breakfast was decent in the morning, nothing fancy just waffle machine (which they need more than just 1), eggs, biscuits and sausage then OJ and yogurt, some apples etc. definitely not a grand buffet by any means. Staff was friendly and check in was quick but just be warned it is OLD.
