Comfort Inn Wethersfield - Hartford - Featured Reviews (592)
Checked in, go to the room. I always look for cleanliness when staying at a motel…. Toilet was disgusting. Had feces on the rim and it didn’t look like the toilet had a brush used in it. You could clearly see the mold on the inside of the bowl. I went to the desk. No apology. They said no one there could clean it n I would have to switch rooms. Nope not switching. My room should have been inspected for cleanliness before my arrival. I told them to give me the cleaning chemical n I would clean it myself. They bought me some but no cleaning rags. I had to use my room towels to clean. Therefore I had no towels for morning. ( not sure if I even would have stepped foot in the shower just looking at the dingy bath math that sticks to the inside of the shower ). Corners had black mold which means it’s been growing a while and pink mold which is the start of the black mold. Clearly wasn’t cleaned properly. When I checked out I told the desk agent I left the cleaner in the tub and why I had it. Again no apology. I’ve worked in hospitality for 25+ years and have always taken care of the guest. This place don’t care. Carpets in the hall are stained and I mean huge spots, pool was down for maintenance, stains on the ceiling in the bathroom. |Breakfast was bleck ….banana and yogurt was delicious. Coffee too strong, eggs and sausage cold, juice was watered down, waffle machine didn’t fully cook my waffle even though I had it in for the full time. It was flaky not fluffy as they should be. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. They definitely need a complete overhaul of this hotel. Shut it fine and do some major repairs. Just nasty.
🛑🛑please stop and read!!!** the Comfort Inn Weatherfield hotel was the worse hotel I ever stayed at in the USA and I have stayed at many chains before. The room was Dirty!!! My shoes stuck to the carpet many times . The bathroom mirror was permanently stained . I found hair in the mini fridge. The headboard of one of the beds had a slimy substance on it . The furniture was chipped. The elevator button on my floor #2 did not work and 1 elevator was always out of service. I asked in the morning to have my room cleaned and when I came back at 4pm it was not done. The gentleman just said there was nothing he can do. The coffee to go station at the entrance had garbage all over the floor and I didn’t feel safe with the lock on my door because it did not work. After driving 7 hours this is not the experience I was looking forward to. At what point can someone tolerate all this in such a short time frame?. I just wanted to leave and go home but I didn’t want to loose my money. I don’t want anyone to go through what I went through last weekend. Stay safe and comfortable staying somewhere else. Sincerely.
Grass/grounds not taken care of in months.Paint peeling off building. 1 luggage cart for 4 story hotel. Carpet/wall paint old and dated. Upgrade of furniture needed. Breakfast was fair/poor compared to other Choice hotels. Elevator down button did not work. Had to go up to go down.
The little room stickers say to request housekeeping since the hotel is trying to conserve resources. So, on day 2 of my 5 night stay, I asked for housekeeping since my large family needed new towels, the conjoined rooms were missing 2 comforters, & the trash taken out. No one came. |Requested again on day 3, and again, no one came. So my room started to smell so the front desk gave me the supplies to clean my own room. ||Besides a decent breakfast, don’t expect much from the housekeeping.
Rooms can use some repairs. The ceiling is peeling. Could use new rugs. Staff are friendly and helpful. Coffee, tea available 24/7. They have a good continental breakfast.
We booked before reading reviews and were a little nervous, but when we got here the staff was fine, room wasn’t great (stains on floor and walls, broken toilet paper holder, bathroom fan didn’t work) but honestly not terrible. Never saw a single bug on the third floor. Elevators seemed wonky but not broken. Overall could be cleaner but fine for the price.
Disappointing Stay - Not Recommended
I had an extremely disappointing stay at this hotel. We came for a mission trip for three days. The woman at the front desk was incredibly rude, making up her own rules. The room itself was far from clean; I spotted two roaches during the night, which was alarming. The rug was full of stain and musty. They don’t care because they are making money regardless. The place reeked of cigarettes and had an awful smell of wet dogs that lingered throughout the hallways. I woke up with puffy eyes. Made my whole Connecticut stay horrible. At least they had Wi-Fi. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable or clean stay.
(I noticed a pattern of them responding to reviews and apologizing to make it seem like they care.)
Positive: I liked that the hotel overall was clean and provided hand sanitizers. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Negative: One of the elevators 1st floor button was broken. The pool was closed for maintenance which was disappointing but didn't interfere with my plans. The shower curtain was broken or defective because it couldn't close all the way.

How can ANYONE complain about D & D Market?? One of the few Italian markets that has survived for decades! I for one appreciate the historical aspect but the prepared foods and the various old school offerings, are the hook.
The search is over!
I have been searching for 7 years to find a Chicken Cutlet sandwich that compared to the Deliâs back home on Long Island. I have found a few decent ones throughout the state of CT but Wethersfield Pizza House blew the rest out
First time trying their ice cream and canât complain at all! Ordered 4 flights with different flavors. We had about 10 different flavor ice creams, a couple of each of the cookies, brownies, and each flavor macaroons. Money was well spent! Deliciou
