Comfort Inn Smithfield near I-95 - Hotel in Smithfield - 170 S Equity Dr, USA

We stayed overnight during our travels. Seemed outdated and the room didn't feel clean. Stains on carpet and the walls. The room smelled like old yogurt and the halls smelled like smoke. Breakfast is until 9:30 and we arrived at 9 and there was hardly anything left. Also seemed like the elevators required some maintenance. We decided to take the stairs.

This hotel needs some updating. |The bathroom had broken tiles, paint chipping, and mold in the shower area. The air conditioner in our room was not working properly. I turned down the temperature, and it never changed. Love the idea of having 3 queen size beds in the hotel room for families.

This hotel is old and run down! Foul oder throughout the entire facility. After I realized that housekeeping would not clean my room, I requested to have my room cleaned and was assured it would be done shortly and they never showed up. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone! I am surprised this hotel/motel is under the comfort inn umbrella.

The place is a dump, rooms are dirty and smell like smoke. It was so hot inside the hotel I was covered in sweat by the time I got to an even hotter room. The Tvs are mounted directly to the wall so your kids won’t be able to play any games and you won’t be able to stream any devices. I’ve had Bad experiences with hotels before and travel for a living. I’ve learned if the Owners or Managers name is Patel it’s probably not going to be very good. Absolutely Do not stay here there are many hotels around that are better and even have a lower price. If I wasn’t so tired I would have ask for a refund and went somewhere else. Will definitely be changing hotels tomorrow.

The front desk was phenomenal. The owner manager, Mr Patel, was aloof as usual. He’s more concerned with profit over providing adequate service. He was aware that one of the two jacuzzi rooms they have was broken yet still allowed me to check in. When I arrived to the room, EVERY crevice, corner, and crack was filled with dirt and grime. The shower itself looks like the repair man finished it with a spray can of rhino liner. We immediately began to fill the jacuzzi upon arrival and discovered some sort of cleaner or soap was still in the tub causing the water to turn a weird blue color with bubbles. Needless to say, once the jacuzzi wouldn’t turn on, we had hit our three strikes and went to the front desk to be refunded. Front desk was understanding and accommodating and quick to refund us. I cannot recommend this property if their “special” rooms are in this state of dismalness. There are over a dozen other hotels available within walking distance.

They had room for my truck to park. And there's a movie theater next door. The area was kind of weird, but the room was very comfortable, and there's restaurants all around, and you could drive to Walmart If You Want.

I forgot my apple airpods in my room. After I called in to see if someone turned them in, I find out they were not. I pulled out my ipad and checked Find My app and discovered they were pinged the next town over. So turns out this hotel has a cleaner who is a thief. I didn't expect to get them back, but I did expect management to do there job and at least attempt to find who this person was and the hotel manager didn't even have the decency to talk to me themselves and told there clerk that I can't prove they were in the hotel. (The clerk is the one who called and talked to me). On top of that, the way this hotel runs there "system" they don't even use their employees names over who cleans what rooms. They just call them cleaner 1, cleaner 2, ect. So unless I can talk to the cleaning manager, who I was told hasn't been in in days, they can't help me cause no one knew who this "cleaner 1" is. All the while my airpods were pinged again this afternoon in Smithfield on the other side of town. Frankly I understand the whole hotel isn't bad, but when you can't even have the decency to do your job and try to find the culprit and give me these excuses its just sad. I will never stay here again. There's plenty other choice hotels in the area. Just be warned if you stay here, DONT leave your expensive things in your room, cause they might not be there when you get back.
