We found few places to stay during commencement at UVA, and even this hotel had inflated rates and 2-night minimums that weekend. Overall, the property was dingy and tired and in need of updates and maintenance.||The way the property is laid out is in long, dark corridors with dim lighting and little signage. The single elevator functions fine but needs its floor to be replaced.||The room was acceptably clean, but continued the dark and dingy theme, with stained brown/grey carpeting. The bathroom was in dire need of maintenance and updating. A tiny corner vanity did not provide enough room for both me and my husband to place our toilet kits. The towel bar simply fell off the wall, showing evidence of prior, inadequate remedies. The drain in the shower took forever to drain, leaving me ankle-deep as I showered (and had a broken stopper, so that if you accidentally closed it, it could stay closed). There is no vent fan, and it shows, with peeling and blistering paint all around. The tile grout was stained, and there was messy grout/paint/caulk all around. Altogether unpleasant.||I've been careful to judge this hotel against others of its class. In that regard, the bed was OK, and the amenities were as promised. However, especially with $300+ rates over graduation weekend, it was a drab and depressing experience.
The staff were lovely, Paula especially. Our room was clean and I liked the way the bathroom was set up. The jacuzzi was tricky to figure out how to work, but there was plenty of hot water and the jets all worked. Breakfast was good, a fairly small selection of food, but it was what we needed. Proximity to Monticello was great and the price was reasonable!
Unfortunately we had a poor experience at this venue. First they are working on the road there and it was difficult to get in. We ended up getting back on the wrong road and had to turn around. The front desk clerk gave me a price and it was much higher than the rate we found In-N-Out phone. She said that we would have to get that price online, When we came back in the price that they told us was still more than $5 more, I called Customer Service and spoke to 3 different people. The last was one in El Salvador😩 I spent almost an hour on the phone and he gave me 1000 points. Not happy still .
After getting in bed my wife noticed something on the wall. I picked it up and flushed it down the toilet
I assume it was a Stink Bug, In the morning went down for breakfast about 6:45 and there were no eggs remaining since the guys who worked construction nearby had finished them all. There was no waffle mix either. When I went back with my wife after 8:00 AM They had eggs and waffle mix, They can’t expect the Front Desk Clerk to do two jobs at once. In the morning my wife took a shower and the tub water didn’t drain down. This was less than a pleasant stay. Choose wisely next time. See two photos
For being so close to highway, the room was remarkably quiet. We slept great. The hotel and room were very clean. The staff was so nice Check in and out was simple, fast and easy. If I am in the area again, I'll stay here.
The staff checked someone in with the same last name before I arrived and gave them my reservation#. They clearly did not insist in seeing proper identification. It took 45 minutes to straighten this out when I arrived. When getting my credit card statement I found I had been charged $22.98 more than the reservation total. There were three additional charges totaling $15.32 and the room charge itself was $6.66 more than the reservation total. Tried calling the hotel, was initially placed on perpetual hold, so I posted this review.
Update: Finally got through to the front desk. All but one of the additional charges had been reversed but not yet reflected on my statement. I confirmed with my bank. The clerk reversed the final extraneous charge. We're squared up. Be alert when checking in and checking out.
So, it caught fire while there. So I can't really score everything, we were hardly there. But the news is reporting that it is suspicious. Also, the back up hotel still required to checkout at 11am, when we finally got settled at 4:30am. Not a lot of time to rest after dealing with a fire. So my 1 is more towards cooperate and not this location.
No email, no communication after that night.
I am a platinum member, so I do expect better from "Choice."
Road construction under way can hardly get into motel due to the work and all of the workers staying here, was woken up at 615 each morning by those guys going to breakfast laughing joking and yelling in hallway think of high school field trip noise, don't expect any breakfast for a while after they are done because everything is picked clean. Staff was polite and helpful. Rooms clean, but had to ask for towels on second day no housekeeping or towels brought.
Thes3 ladies at the front desk were so friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was really great. Great selection. Location is awesome. Right by the highway. We went to see a concert and it was so convenient. Surroundings of hotel was nice with nature. Safe location. They have outdoor pool and other facilities. Gave the hotel lower score because it's older and tub was stained with rust.
When we go to stay for a night away, the details are everything, and the Inn at Court Square has absolutely nailed the details! The owners both greeted us and were so welcoming and accommodating. We were a little late for check in, but they still too
Had a great experience at this location. The rooms were clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hot chocolate station was awesome . Breakfast was really good. When they ran out of something the ladies cooking breakfast were on top of it a
We needed a little staycation for our anniversary between lots of Christmas events we couldnât miss. So my husband surprised me with a night at the Clifton.
The carriage house was lovely! They arranged to have a gorgeous flower bouquet in the room
This place specializes in distilling rum and they do it extremely well. Hopefully the owner will read this and correct me but I believe they even have 3 different types of gin based on a rum distillate. This is a small Distillery with all of their p
These workouts are tough, but the atmosphere and support is OUT OF THIS WORLD. These ladies and Carly seriously made me feel immediately part of the group and encouraged me throughout the whole workout. This level of training is what I need to reach
