Comfort Inn Matteson - Chicago - Hotel in Matteson - 5210 Southwick Dr, USA

I booked my stayed here when I came to town for the passing of my loved one. I checked out early. However, I am still being charged even though I met the 4 night minimum requirement. I have called everyday this week twice a day and cannot get a manager in the building or on the phone. I’ve left my contact number to no avail. It’s not a bad hotel but the not having a manager on site that can adjust/close reservations is unacceptable.

Negatives: - Do Not Book Here! You have now been warned. - Choice hotels will lie just to you to get your reservation & Credit card number. And so does this hotel. - This hotel holds $400 on your card for incidentals not $100. The website lies about that. - There is no early check-in or early checkouts. Choice hotels will lie to you about that just to get your reservation and credit card information. - The 24 hour cancellation policy is a scam. - You will NOT receive a refund for any reason whatsoever. - The 800 customer service number for choice hotels will not assist you. They will refer you back to the hotel and tell you it's up to the hotels discretion. - No one at the hotel will help you. - The hotel is a bit ghetto it smells like weed. If that's for you go for it…if not run! - Cancel your card BEFORE you leave this hotel and get a new one. Positives: The breakfast guy is very nice. The shower soap is very good. The room had good AC. This business is unethical and cannot be trusted. There are many other hotels nearby, you have options.

Positive: The fact that the microwave and the refrigerator seems to be working well. The selection of. clean linen was very good. Negative: There was no portal to recharge my. cell phone..

I picked this place after accidentally booking a reservation at the Hampton for the wrong date. The main reason why I picked this place was 4.1 stars. Boy, do I feel stupid. First off, the main floor is just musty. I thought it was someone's BO and wrote it off as such. The room...I almost went home after seeing it. It looks run down, the hard floors were somehow greasy from the cleaning supplies (I never let my bare feet nor socks touch the floor or carpet), and there were stains on the sheets and blankets. I slept in my clothes on top of my hoodie (I did not get under ANY covers) and thankfully didn't get any bedbugs and didn't see any roaches throughout the night. The shower and toilet seemed clean and fine but that's just about the only positive about my room. If you have ANY other place to stay, stay there...not here. Some friends of mine booked across the way at the Quality Inn and despite the horrid rating and reviews, their rooms were much better than mine.

Be cautious when considering this hotel and their sanitation practices. I found roaches in my room and, despite reporting it, I never received a refund. Choice Hotels gave me the runaround and never resolved the issue. This was the worst and most traumatizing experience I've ever had at a hotel. Choose wisely, as this is definitely not the right choice.

Positive: The room looked remodeled Negative: Front desk staff did not appear friendly; Police were at the location several times to manage unruly clientele;the maid discarded personal effects; side access door didn't accept key card; magnetic strip for key card failed when maid would service room. Guy at breakfast was amazing, breakfast was cold or tasted weird, rooms were clean and when housekeeping came were respectful. Front desk was awesome.

Positive: Hot breakfast Negative: There was glass in the parking lot from someone's truck window being busted out and after the truck left the glass was still there. BUT, it could have been cleaned up after we left.
