Comfort Inn - Hotel in Oxford - 5056 College Corner Pike, USA

We visited Oxford last week and all hotels in the area were booked, except the Comfort Inn and we now know why. At first glance, the hotel was ok. However, once we stepped in the elevator, it went downhill fast. The elevator was dark and dirty. Once in the room, I wasn’t sold that it had been cleaned. The curtain was hanging off the rod; hair on the sheets; toilet had mold; faucet had caked on lime build up; mold around the ceiling in the bathroom: and tv screen was very greasy. Breakfast area was so dirty and unsanitary that there was no way we would eat there - hard boiled eggs were over cooked … shells were cracked and the egg was sticking out of the cracked edges. Waffle maker looked like it had not been wiped down in years. Everything needed a deep clean. Decor was outdated with lots of big fake flowers. Recommend finding another hotel. Do not give them business so they continue getting away with it.

A place to sleep for a quick over night when picking up my student for the Labor Day holiday - but you get what you pay for. |Check in was easy. |Room was clean-ish but showing its age and care level. |The bed cover was dirty with what looked like makeup, fire alarm was without a cover and the bathroom toilet/sink needed some care.|The hotel was quiet and the text from the GM was a nice added touch of hospitality as I didn’t see a front desk clerk again coming in/out of the hotel several times. |There is coffee and continental breakfast stations but the dining items, coffee station included, was so dirty that I passed on everything and went to a cafe instead. |A basic good night sleep which I am grateful for but not a place that I would hang out and work a few hours before getting on the road again.

This hotel has been our tried and true for years but has slowly gone downhill. The breakfast is stale and rotten fruit served, black mold in hallways, the pool is broken up and falling apart (I would not let my kids swim in it), they messed up my credit card and put a post-it note on my door to come to the front desk, the paper room key jackets are reused and they just put a sticker over the room number (not a big deal, but how many other pockets has that been in), there was an open maintenance room for a week with carts blocking the vending machines and trash on the floor. It really is a shame, because the rooms are ok, but not worth walking through the trash to get to the rooms anymore.

This hotel is rather embarrassing. The front desk folks are nice, but they simply don't have experience or training in the business. The elevator broke down, shower leaked, stained tub, paid housekeeping to re-clean my room.... it goes on. The rates are tripled on weekends. This is simply an example of a market where you can be poorly run, poorly maintained and do the minimum, and stay in business. Supply does not meet demand in Oxnard, thus you have places like the Comfort Inn. Not terrible, but I would NEVER stay here again.... NEVER. I would rather camp in a tent.

My son and I were here for 1 night before a baseball tournament. Check-in was easy. Going up to our hotel, I noticed that the elevator was filthy, from the floor, to the walls, to the dirty (and empty) hand sanitizer vessel. Our room was ok. Bed was comfortable. We wanted to get a workout in and went down to the fitness center. Once again, it was dirty and the cleansing wipes container was completely empty. We left early the next morning and were looking forward to grabbing something for breakfast downstairs. It looked as if it was the breakfast had been put out 4 days ago. The entire area was a mess and the trash was overflowing. I only saw one person working when we were there and he was not doing anything to make the situation better. He was sitting around. We were able to sleep and shower which is what we wanted.

The Comfort Inn is an okay choice when in Oxford. The hotel rooms are clean and the hotel property seems very safe. Complimentary breakfast offerings are subpar and limited compared to other value hotels.

The hotel was out of hot water. I requested that the manager, Cody, call me multiple times to compensate me for my room, and he did not. I called the location three times and spoke with the front desk. I still have not received a credit. The bathroom was also very dirty and the breakfast served was cold. I will never stay at a Comfort Inn again.

We stay here all the time in Oxford. Rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The front desk staff could not be any nicer.
