Comfort Inn Lees Summit @ Hwy 50 & Hwy 291 - Featured Reviews (556)
This place advertised breakfast ends at 10am. We left our rooms to eat breakfast at 9:30am and they had already closed the dining area. The employees weren’t as helpful as they should have been. The key cards are one slight bend away from not working. I got locked out of my room with all of my stuff in it even though the card wasn’t bent. I had to go back and forth, up and down the elevator to tell them my card wasn’t working. They didn’t know what was wrong with it and had to manually open the door with their master key card, so I had to just stay in my room until checkout. On top of that there’s a $100 deposit fee just to get a room, as well as the actual payment itself (which is advertised as $74 as of this review). The rooms were nice and everything seemed to work. It was quite a disappointing experience aside from the rooms and convenient location.
Positive: The staff was friendly enough, and the stay was OK overall. There are better hotels than this one, but it will do if needed. I probably would choose another over this one in the future. Negative: The hotel could use updating. The toilet paper holder in my room was loose and coming out of the wall, and there was old dust and buildup in several places, including the room's air conditioning unit and the hair dryer. Bring Lysol wipes if you stay here.
The staff was polite.
The room was in serious disrepair as you can see by the photos. Cracks in the ceiling and floor tiles. The window was about to fall out of the building and was filthy on the inside. The bathroom was so dark it was like showering in a cave. Plus the shower head was so dirty that it was hard to take a proper shower.
The "breakfast" was a complete joke. Powdered eggs and two pieces of dried out sausage. There were hard boiled eggs but you couldn't actually eat them because the handle was broken off the drawer and you couldn't open it.
The location is the only thing that saved this trip.
This hotel room was filthy. The pictures online make it look clean. Filthy and dark, and the carpet was so worn in one area that if you stepped there carpet nails would poke your feet. We didn't have a lot of options as I think it must have been graduation weekend in Lee's Summit, so we stayed here. Overpriced for the condition of the room - with tax it was $150 for one night. We had driven 14 hours and I was too tired to ask for a different room, otherwise I would have left and demanded a refund.
Wow, what an awful place. Completely run down outside, parking lot is potholed. The room’s drawers were broken, with one that was held shut by a paper wedge, when removed the door slid open by itself. Missing lamp. Missing art work (fasteners left hanging). And really dangerous, smoke alarm was missing. Holes in the drapes. When you opened the fridge it tried to fall over. Dingy walls and light fixtures. No working fan in the bathroom. After that didn’t trust breakfast, but walked through. Skimpy offerings. Will not return.
The room reeked of cigarettes, instead if switching rooms they brought an "air purifier" that only kind of worked and was super noisy. There were cigarette burns in the blanket and blood spots on the curtain.
The soaking tub would have been nice if it wasn't disgusting. I wouldn't have taken a bath in it if you paid me.
At least there wasn't bed bugs and beds were comfortable enough.
I will never choose it unless it's the absolute last option.
There was a bit of a language barrier that complicated check-in. When we got to the room, we were pleased with it. It was a handicap accessible room, so the bathroom was very spacious and a shower chair was provided. There were no hours posted for the free hot breakfast. We went down at 9:20 only to find out it had ended at 9 am. The second morning we went down and had their hot breakfast. It offered scrambled eggs and sausage. A toaster was provided to make white or wheat toast. There were 2 waffle making stations and a choice of regular or blueberry waffle batter. There were several choices of continental style fare. If it had been listed as a continental breakfast, it would have been beyond expectations. As a hot breakfast, it was only fair.
Positive: Great location and nice room. However the bed was very uncomfortable because it was too hard. Ive stayed in cheaper hotels where their beds were comfortable. Negative: The uncomfortable bed that gave me a backache. Negative: ""
