Comfort Inn Gilroy - Hotel in Gilroy - 8435 San Ysidro Ave, USA

I am absolutely furious about the state of the room we were given! The sheets and bed were filthy, covered in hair and crumbs. The refrigerator was still had left over alcohol and some bag from the previous guest, and the room hadn't even been swept. When I went to check out immediately after I observed the room and asked for a refund, the front desk refused and told me to call a number. He initially ignored me until I asked him if he would like to see the photos. The next day when I called back, the same guy lied about the situation, claiming we never checked in. Luckily, I have evidence - a dash cam, photos, and video recordings of the whole ordeal. Only when I threatened to expose him with all the proof and his face on social media did he finally agree to refund us. This is completely unacceptable and guests should not have to go through loopholes when it’s due to the hotel problem. Because he agreed to refund, I will not show post photos of him, but here are the photos of the room to save yourself from this happening to you. Btw, I only took photos and recorded because on my reservation, I was asked to submit a video for possible compensation to advertise the site. Otherwise I wouldn’t had had all this evidence. I want to thank god for having the system prompt me to submit a video ad upon checking in for $150 compensation. It really saved me from potentially getting scammed.

Rooms are good. Breakfast is good. Service is lacking. The card readers for the room doors are not working very well. It's not worth the price to stay here.

Large Sign "Comfort Inn Now Open" indicates it must have been closed for renovation. The site is open, but shows it needs some work before meeting Comfort Inn standards.|The desk and lobby were unmanned at 4pm when we arrived for checkin. After 15 minutes, the clerk returned (very nice person) who checked us into our rooms. |The first room we went to was dirty: had not been cleaned from the previous guest.|The second room lacked the Dish Network receiver for the TV, so we requested a third room.|The room was comfortable, but the decor lacked any color. Kinda bland. The beds were clean and comfortable, and I do like the showers which are the low step in style. |Breakfast was lacking: the only hot offering were the waffles; no eggs, sausages, etc. Coffee was good, and the usual cold offerings were available. |The lobby was unmanned the entire time we were in the breakfast area. The only employee we ever saw was the desk clerk upon check in

No one attending front desk. Note with bell stated the person stepped away for "15 minutes". 20 minutes went by with no one coming. 2 men were seated at a table, on the phone. I appealed to them finally, asking where the clerk was. They graciously got up and knocked on 2 different doors, but with no response. In the meantime, my husband walked the entire 3 floors then the outside perimeter looking for anyone that might even suggest looking like an employee, with equally no results. I had just looked up and began a call to Customer Relations when the front desk clerk showed up. His excuse was "in the bathroom". I let that slide. He was abrupt, sharp, and refused to answer a couple of simple questions (why are we paying up front when in the past our card was charged the last night by the auditor)... For the remainder of our 3 day stay we saw only 1 time someone at the front desk. The property was kept up, the room comfortable, but the front desk employee was most unpleasant.

Hotel property is nice, but front desk staff rarely attended the front desk. Evening employee made me feel as if I was intruding on his personal time...|Room mostly clean (floor needed to be mopped). Bed and furniture comfortable. Everything functioning.

Pretty decent rooms. More modern and comfy. The shower drain was clogged. Besides that nice room. And there was truck parking for my car hauler.

The hotel rooms look renovated. My room was very clean. Laminate flooring, tiled standing shower, the bed was on the firm side (which I prefer). There is a pretty large desk in the room if you need to do some work. Breakfast was standard light fare - yogurt, cereal, danish pastries, fruits, waffles, sliced white bread, jams, and butter, milk, coffee….theres a Denny’s right next to the hotel if you want something heartier. I stayed here while visiting family, would stay here again.
