Comfort Inn Chula Vista San Diego South - Hotel in Chula Vista - 91 Bonita Rd, USA

I echo most of the comments from the other reviewers. The staff is fantastic, front desk, house keeping, breakfast, maintenance, all are great and hard working. I had ZERO problems with any bugs of any kind. I had a clogged sink which was fixed very quickly. There was NO stale smoke smell in the hall (third floor) or in my room, everything was fresh and clean. I will confirm that one of the two elevators does not work which makes it a little slow at times to get in and out. The doors to the stairs are alarmed so you have to use the elevator. The computers in the lobby do not work, they work, but they are not turned on, they did not seem to know the passwords. But they will print anything you need. ||I had one unusual thing happen...I stayed there while on a business trip to Chula VIsta, I am still in Chula VIsta but now staying at a different property from another chain. Seems they have a 28 day maximum stay. I have stayed in hotels and motels all over California for the last 7 years, including during Covid, the projects I work on typically run 30-45 days then I go on to another city. It has never been a problem at any other chain to extend my stay. If I have had to check out and check back in it has been done at the front desk and has never involved physically leaving the building. Except here. You must leave for 24 hours before you can check in again with a new reservation, Apparently this is their policy and they did notify my boss at the time the reservation was made. I believe in California more than 28 days in a hotel makes you a resident not a guest which brings some different rules for the hotel. So that was an inconvenience, why would I stay one night somewhere else then come back there. So we just made a reservation for the balance of my time (two weeks) at another property. Although I did read that someone staying here due to an insurance claim on their property stayed 5 months, I wonder if they had to relocate for a day every 30. Us long term stayer ( who are not homeless) are a little unusual, its your property, your rules. ||All in all it was a nice stay, just be careful if you are a travel nurse or something which requires long term hotel stays.

My stay here at the Comfort Inn has been a very relaxing and enjoyable one for me and my family. We were given lodging at the Comfort Inn due to the severe flood damage that happened in January taking away our whole lives work and sentimental personal items. It has been a easy transition here the whole staff and management have been curtious amicable friendly and professional. We got close with all the staff and became a new part of my family and I will miss them but I will also come back and say hello. Shout out to Manager Reina, Supervisor Norlyn, Staff: Alexis, Alicia, Rocio, Erendira, Verenice, Magadelena, Steve, Art (Arturo), Maintenance guys Ramon and Manuel.

Bed was nice. Breakfast was average at best. There was no light in the entrance to the room which was weird. Other than that, it was a good place to lay our heads. Good location right by the highway. Not a lot of food offerings nearby. Staff was friendly.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times throughout the year. This trip was not as satisfying as the other when it comes to cleanliness. Our room was clean upon arrival. The sink was plugged up but the staff took care of it when notified. My only two complaints would be the carpets are in need of a deep cleaning my little one’s feet were extremely dirty after running around with no socks on. Also our room was never cleaned once even though we were there for multiple days. Over all it is a nice hotel and the staff is very nice and helpful. I would highly recommend this property

I love staying in hotels, but it is a huge turn off to stay in a room that reeks of cigarete smoke. For me, this was located in a very good spot centrally located to all places I was visiting. I was turned off with the front desk, as she was not certain or sure of the answers to my question. I was even more so let down by the dank disgusting smell of cigarette smoke in my room. I complained and was informed the hotel was sold out and they would clean the smell with a machine they had. It would take 30 mins and the smell would be gone. NOPE! I went to dinner so this could happen. I do not know if this happened as my room was as gross as it was before dinner. I will never stay in this specific hotel again. I do not recommend!

Norlyn at the front desk is amazing. She makes you feel very welcome when you arrive with amazing customer service. Steve at night shift comes in with an amazing attitude makes you feel comfortable during your stay. He makes sure there is fresh coffee and hot water right when he enters his shift.
