Comfort Inn & Suites - Hotel in South Burlington - 3 Dorset St, USA

Pretty disappointed by this stay. There were a lot of options in the area, and I chose this for a mix of reviews and price. The overall price was decent but not for the cleanliness. The bathroom was pretty bad. The walls were busted up, the floor was sticky, the door had grime on it, and the toilet seat was pealing like crazy. The main room wasn't as bad but also not great. The bed was very clean, and i appreciated that. The sofa had dog hair on it, which was a problem because im allergic to dogs. There were also crispy white spots all over it. The curtains were also dirty, and the wallpaper was pealing off. With all the negatives, I will say that the staff was amazing. Super friendly and welcomed me right off the bat. Overall, I would have to say I don't recommend for the price.

If there were just one word to describe this Comfort Inn, it would be, well, 'comfortable.' The welcome and departure hospitality at the front desk was both warm and courteous. Breakfast was abundant, well stocked, and the seating area was spacious and clean. As a Choice Privileges Diamond member, when staying on friends and family rate, I never expect upgrades, but was assigned to a spacious 2 room suite. The rooms aren't the most modern of the Comfort Ins I've stayed in, but they were well maintained and, most importantly, spotlessly clean.

Two night stay for business. A good experience - pricey due to fall foliage season (leaves had not changed) . Hotel was clean and reflected areas of renovation and upgrades; one could tell that the hotel has been around and is a busy place in a very busy area of South Burlington/Burlington VT. Easy access to highway, dining, and shopping. Room clean, bed and bedding were clean and comfortable. Sink did not drain well; water temperature and pressure were good at shower and sink. No issues with Internet connection whatsoever. Complimentary breakfast was adequate - fried eggs/sausage/bacon along with make your own pancakes, cereal, yogurt, and some fruit. Plenty of juice, coffee, or tea. Toast and english muffins also available. Eggs and sausage was tasty, but not particularly warm. Breakfast attendant was very attentive to the area and very pleasant. Plenty of parking - clearly this is a popular hotel - quite a variety of guests - travelers, business, tourists, and workers.

This hotel could use some updating, as there is a lot of wear on everything. The staff was very friendly and accommodating with any request I made though, so that almost made up for the outdated surroundings. I also appreciated that my room got upgraded to a suite at no extra charge, and I was given a couple snacks and bottled water when checking in. The location was also very good personally as I was coming from the airport and needed to be close by.

We arrived at this hotel on our last day of our vacation on Sept 22, 2023. When we went to our room I found some live bugs near the headboard of our bed. We brought this to the attention of the gentleman at the front desk and he put us in a different room. We found signs of bugs in this room also so we asked again for another room. The hotel was booked solid. They said they had nothing else for us, so we left our number so the manager could contact us the next day. The next day the manager called us and told us they would refund our room, but we had to contact Expedia to have them contact the hotel for a refund. After multiple attempts, Expedia was unable to obtain a refund for us. We are very disappointed that the manager couldn’t follow through on her promise to refund our room. We won’t book at this hotel again.

I arrived on a Tuesday night at about 11pm. I drove all through the parking lot looking for a space. Waaaay in the back there were some but it was filled with big trucks, construction vehicles, and young guys milling about smoking and drinking. There was no way I was parking back there as a solo female traveler. |I found a spot closer to the front but it was unlit and pitch black. When I got out, I realized there were people loitering about. I just wasn’t comfortable in the dark|Check in was easy. The woman was very nice. The hotel smelled strange so I was nervous. My room was across from the laundry room. Door propped open and LOUD. i shut the door and hoped for the best. Relieved to get to the room and find it clean and more than just decent. |I thought a drumline was practicing outside (muffled). Open the window to see if I could better hear, but turned out to be the air handler right below the window. I laughed but it made falling asleep hard. |Bathroom and towels decent. Left early the next morning. Checkout easy and another nice woman. discovered that I had actually parked in the CVS lot next door. No fencing or signs so no wonder it was dark. |Decent stay, but definitely not single female friendly with the parking lot situation. I think there are lots of construction workers staying there but who knows.

Positive: Great location. Easy check in. Pool was nice. Breakfast was extensive, but could have had healthier options. Parking was easy and plentiful. Room was a good size. Negative: The wifi was terrible. It cut in and out constantly. The hallway hadn¿t been vacuumed the entire two day visit. The room smelled really musty and couldn¿t be aired out. The mattress was cheap and way too bouncy. Too costly for this lack of valu

Good: if you need a warm, dry, bed for cheap, this is it. Also, nice to have a "mini kitchen" - I like that. Bad: -Sink had no water pressure, like a dribble of water, and then it wouldn't drain, just sit with soapy water in it for an hour or so. We used the tub to brush our teeth. -Balcony was full of old food, bird poop and feathers. We didn't even open the door to go out there, but it looked like it could be a cool space. -Breakfast was out of coffee, tables and counters were sticky from syrup so I washed the table down we used with a napkin and the hot water from Tea. Also, no non-dairy milk options? Come on. We made toast, it was just fine for a free breakfast, but did have to go upstairs and wash my hands in the tub before we started the day. -Updated my legal married name in the Choice system after I had booked so my ID matched my Choice Rewards number, and was getting calls all night that I couldn't transfer my stay to another person and needed to cancel all my stays during my vacation and rebook them. (A Choice thing, not Comfort Inns fault, but another piece of the poor experience.)
