One star is too many. Multiple issues. One bed was broken and slanted to the floor. No towels upon arrival. Towels were finally brought up, but we then discovered that the shower did not work. We were given a key to an alternate room to shower, but it clearly had not been cleaned. The conditions were unacceptable for an "off" weekend rate of under $100 per night. I cannot imagine paying event weekend prices of over $300 a night!

For the money (on a non university of Iowa football weekend), this would be an ok place to stay. The best past was the comfortable bed. There’s no hotel gym, breakfast was so-so, and the condition of the hotel was ok - not terrible, but it could use some refreshing. I overpaid for the room since it was a home football weekend.

Location was good. That’s the only good thing I can say about this hotel. Wish I would have read the reviews before staying there, I would have paid a few more dollars to stay somewhere else. Most of these reviews are very similar to my experience. Front desk was no where in sight after I checked in. The room was so nasty and dirty idk how they’re even in business. My shower drain was clogged, hair all over the shower, even had a long dark hair inside my fridge, gross. The bed linen was dirty, glad I brought my own blanket. Crap all over the floor from previous guests. At 2am not much I could do about anything I just wanted to sleep, I would have rather slept in my car. Waste of my money. I will never return to any of their hotels.

Ok - so this is NOT "the Ritz Carlton" - but for a traveling person like myself, THIS HOTEL MORE THAN EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS! Why? Well, to be honest, it was the helpfulness of the front desk lady (I think her name was "Kay" or "Kayla" - and I THINK she is a manager or something "higher up" like that. She certainly knew what she was talking about and politely as well as efficiently took care of everything I asked of her. Even recommended a GREAT restaurant nearby! They say "staff can make or break a business" - well, that is certainly the case here - it MADE this hotel well worth staying at for me... The room was not "the best" - but i have certainly stayed at a LOT worse (again, NOT the Ritz Carlton, but then again, I did not PAY the Ritz Carlton prices!) I felt very safe at this hotel (SOME hotels, the guests seem a little "sketchy" - didn't see anything like that here! Again, felt VERY safe!!!) I do not swim, so the pool was a non-issue to me. Just give me a clean, comfortable room with working TV, Internet, and throwing in a FREE Breakfast in the morning doesn't hurt! Breakfast was very good - the room was clean and smelled fine. (I see others posted their rooms were dirty and smelled????? Maybe they got a maid who was having an off day?) I don't know, I just know when I travel through Iowa City again, I WILL stay at Comfort inn & Suites. (And hope the same front desk lady (Kay - Kayla???), is still there. Good help like that is hard to hang onto these days!)

Great to work with at a higher level. Housed 27 staff there and was easy to set up. Only negative was the guy in the morning (Darren) that was very rude to our staff when they told him that they had arranged with management the night prior to have breakfast started early. He yelled at them and made them put the fruit and items back after they grabbed them since he hadn’t started the breakfast early as arranged. Staff were very upset, which is sad since besides that, the hotel was great.

I have stayed here a few times and each time it’s a good night sleep. Cleanliness of the room could improve some but it’s ok. They do include a good breakfast and free parking. It’s located directly across the street from the development with the Xtreme arena and multiple restaurants.

The rooms look NOTHING like on the pictures. The guy at the front desk was rude. I got a room the bed wasn't wasn't made. So they gave me another room. Seemed OK until the morning came I went to shower and there a pair of women's underwear hanging from the door towel hook. I went to sit on the couch amd there were white stains on it. Was it Yogurt? Was it something else? I don't think I want to know.

We stayed Saturday into Sunday (8/10 -8/11/24) first and foremost the staff was amazing very helpful and very courteous. We had 2 rooms reserved for 3 adultscand 4 children. When we arrived, checked in and got the keys to the rooms we took our stuff upstairs to the first room, upon getting to the room the door was propped open and noticed the room was not cleaned. The bedding was pulled partially off the beds and stuff still on the floor. The next room had crumbs on the floor a cup under the bed and a paper bracelet under the ac unit. Went to the desk and told the clerk she then gave us another room and apologized for the inconvenience. The replacement room also had crumbs on the floor and not very "clean". Later that evening my girlfriend thought she saw somethinjump on to the night stand then later she realized she did see it because she saw another one and was able to get a picture of it and come to find out it was a flea. I examined my room and didnt see much ither than the crumbscand stuff on the floor. The next morning when I woke up I found what appeared to be black specs on my sheet upon further evaluation found them to be fleas as well. My girlfriends daughter woke up with a bite on her side and on her leg. Notified the front desk clerk about the issue and she as well apologized I would not recommend staying here until they eliminate the flea problem. Again the staff was all super friendly and amazing
