A really great place to take a date or a friend. I definitely wouldn’t take my whole family, it’s more of an intimate atmosphere. The portions are big and the food is delicious. Will was our server and he did great. I enjoyed the biscuits and gravy and my wife had an omelet. We both shared a blueberry stuffed French toast because we didn’t know that it would be so much food. We took our baby stroller in and will not be doing that again, there’s just not enough room.
Rise and Shine, indeed! That is the name of the delectable dish I had, complete with bacon with just the right amount of crispiness, eggs like mama used to make, a freshly baked muffin and the main attraction of a honey drizzled mixed berry yogurt parfait grandly presented in a frosted oversized martini glass! A properly named entree for sure. Rise and shine is also the trajectory I see in the staff here at Comfort Cafe San Antonio. The smile in their eyes, joy in their service and creation of the warm and friendly atmosphere sparks an immediate connection with the customer. So refreshing and a blessing on all sides! Thank you Serenity Star and Comfort Cafe for a truly filling and fulfilling experience!
I’ve been here about three times now. And the food is always great. Nice size portions. I love the concept. The only thing is. There is always way so come with your patience.
Comfort Cafe San Antonio is by far one of the best experiences I’ve had eating anywhere. The history and story behind what makes this place special hit me right in the feels. Looking around, all the guests seemed happy and friendly to the servers and patrons alike. On top of that…….the food was incredible! The portion sizes served were Texas approved. We also visited the gift shop upstairs. Lots of cool things to buy there. Love love love this place.
1/21 update:
I believe because of the second location it was much less busy. I tried to get a reservation Sunday morning and it said there was no wait.
I’m still amazed by how delicious every dish I’ve ever tried is here and how big the portions are. Customer service is always incredible and Jorge was awesome.
***‼️IMPORTANT‼️***
-VERY BUSY! They have a waitlist through google maps or yelp. You can literally get on the list hours before you go and have your spot saved and waiting when you get there. Do this before you even leave the house. Maybe right when you wake up. Trust me. Potentially a 2+ hour wait time.
-CASH & CHECK ONLY! They do have an ATM but be aware that they only accept cash or check.
-NO SET PRICES. This place is interesting and does it by donations. They recommend $15 per mean but they don’t enforce it.
Overall it was all sooo good. We were all judging that they expected a $15 donation per meal… but the food and portions were very worth it! Huge (seriously) portions and I saw nearly every table taking boxes of leftovers home. My sons waffle leftovers were still almost 2lbs when I weighed it at home. The photos don’t do the portions justice, but notice that those are large sized plates. Food also came out very fast after we ordered.
Found a place to have a breakfast date with my soldier! The place is nice and green and all comfy. The food especially the waffles special, IT WAS AMAZING! Our server was great and helped us throughout. Explained in detail the specials, the menu, and about their community. The restaurant has a kids area where kids can play while waiting for food or when they get bored (will bring our little one next time). We are so going back here! Highly recommend this.
This place is amazing! Such a wonderful concept and great place. Food is delicious! This is our new go to spot from now on. Thank you for the work y'all do and the work y'all put into this amazing place. Y'all have my support 100%
The food here is the Bomb Diggity! But what's even better is their cause. It's a Serenity Ranch to help people get clean and sober. Price are pay as you can but a suggested price of $15 per entree. Our server was Will, and he was very friendly and polite. We had the lemon ricotta blueberry pancakes, brown sugar pecan pancakes, the jalapeno popper omelet, the Little Italy omelet, and the three swiss meat omelet. We plan on going back because the food was that good.

Fourth time here. We obviously always have a blast. Itâs a great activity for children and adults to play together. And as an adult, weâre having just as much fun as the kids. Parking is usually pretty easy too. Highly recommend!

I love this place. I had the Orange white chocolate latte and it was perfectly sweet and soothing on this chilly morning. The expresso flavor was still highlighted in the drink which was nice because sometimes the flavoring can overpower a latte.
