Com Tam Thanh Restaurant - Vietnamese restaurant in Newark - 5733 Stevenson Blvd, USA

This Vietnamese restaurant is quite big, but half of this place is open. I’ve been wondering what’s covered on the right portion of this restaurant. Perhaps a private event that’s going to be hosted? There wasn’t many people when I came in probably because it’s past lunch. Not sure though, but the food is good here. I like how they served my Grilled Chicken plate along with the mini Pho. I was full after eating them, which is no wonder why it’s a bit expensive to eat here. I did like one of the staff who helps guide people where to sit and also take their orders. In a way, he is entertaining lol Everything else is good and all, but maybe the place should be renovated so that it fully opens up the whole restaurant and replace lights with better ones, since it’s a bit dark here.

3.5 is the exact stars I would give. Honestly, this place is above average, but not the best and could have been better. The fish sauce that came with cơm tấm was good, but their grilled meat was overcooked and dry, and marinated a little too sweet. Their bì (pork skin) definitely lacked flavor. My sister ordered bún thịt nướng (vermicelli and grilled meat) and the dish came out straight up cold. We had to ask them to reheat her food. This place is very popular though, but underwhelming at best for us and nothing special Parking depends, we didn’t have any issue finding a spot. We came here with very high expectations, but I guess now we know.

It's been three or more years since we've eaten here but I must say, the Pho broth is delicious and perfectly seasoned, not salty at all. I spoke to the owner and she said their broth is made everyday. Their portion is deceivingly less but after our meal, we were absolutely full. Their soup menu is not riddled with overwhelming options nor portion selection. We ordered the rare beef and it was great. We also ordered the egg roll for appetizers. Even though there's nothing special about our starter, the hero of the meal is the Pho soup. Looking forward to returning there and please pay them visit. They are open till midnight.

Well , I thought about the good reviews given and for the food department, I must say yes it was , however don't let the picture of the establishment fool you , deceiving. The staff and owner interaction on the floor , very unacceptable, the staff drinking soda while on the floor and the cleaning of tables was done a nin full of leftover food rolled by everyone sitting adjacent while eating . You'd think a cart for dishes or a clear bucket tray would be more professional. I'd say take out is the way to go , since the dining area is very mediocre. Staff was helpful and courteous ,

Really nice staff! They have a great venue for parties and such :) she gave me a small bowl of soup for free! BBQ beef has a great marinade and comes with noodles, veggies, and some peanuts. They distance everyone very well. Pho was alright, nothing special about it. They give water bottles for water.

My highest recommended vietnamese spot in the bay. The food is phenomenal!! And the service is even better. I had a problem with my UberEATS pick up order, and UberEATS was utterly useless but Hai (the manager here) was so patient and understanding. She tried her best to resolve the issue and followed up with me to see if I was able to resolve the issue through UberEATS. Ultimately it was my fault to begin with and I'm the one who lost money, but because of UberEATS complete lack of prompt customer support, not because of this business or Hai. Hai, thank you for your help & patience!

Pho broth was excellent and rich. Just the right balance of fatty and savory. The beef was fresh and tender, and did not taste like it was previously frozen at the time of serving.

Delicious food fresh ingredients delightful family owned in a beautiful building. Honestly this is the nicest pho restaurant I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to a lot of pho restaurants. The building itself is an old church so it’s incredible. Also there’s a stage for events. Check it out. Tasty and tasteful.
