I stayed in a Riverside King with a fireplace. The room was spacious and extremely clean, but you can tell it is a historic property. ||Bed was on the firmer side. Property was generally quiet. There is some noise pollution from other guests. ||Lack of counter space in the bathroom is rough as a female traveler, real estate is at a premium there.||Only staff are allowed to operate the elevator, which is fine for check in when you're face to face with someone who can bring you upstairs, but hard for checkout. I'd recommend this property for those who are fine navigating stairs on their own/with luggage. ||Overall a beautiful view of the gorge and (for the most part) staff was kind.

Hotel sits right along the river and has beautiful views. The grounds are immaculate and we spent quite a bit of time walking around. It is a historic hotel that has been updated but retained old world charm. We did not dine there but it has a nice restaurant with windows overlooking the river. The rooms were comfortable and clean. It can get pricey on weekends but well worth it. Drive into hood river is about 4-6 minutes. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Make sure to use historic elevator at least once. Definitely worth a stop if you are planning to explore this area and want to stay in a nice place.

Beautiful setting, Rooms good and roomy/comfortable, great views. Grounds are wonderful and peaceful. Near Hood River. Staff amazing. Only issue I had was I could hear the piano downstairs. I was on 2nd floor. However it was great music. Would go again

We stayed at the Columbia Gorge hotel on a Thursday night and were impressed by how clean and well-maintained both the hotel and the grounds were. The hotel is beautiful. We were lucky to stay in a Riverside King with a view of the waterfall. The staff was friendly and professional. We ate a delicious meal at the restaurant, which we will be visiting again. The room was clean and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the robe and the lovely finishes.

Was a great stay, would love to come back and stay in the future. The view of the river is phenomenal and the balcony with drinks was very relaxing.Only issue is the lack of the elevator use for guests without a staff member. Otherwise, limited to no complaints

Sometimes one lucks into amazing accommodations which embrace and comfort during trying times. I had not planned to stay at the Columbia Gorge Hotel and Spa, but exited at 62 on I 84 on the Columbia River and ended up in the parking lot of this historic, lovely accommodation. The front desk clerk, Donna, checked me into the last room available and had the kitchen hold on while I checked in, since they were closing. Check-In, check! Happy hour, hours late, check! Fantastic dinner, alone, in a closed dining room, check. I can’t say enough about the staff, comfortable bed, pillow selection, squeaky clean room, and gratefulness I felt when I was absolutely exhausted. The next morning at Sunday Brunch was a European experience. First the yogurt and berries. Then a cheese, fruit and pastry tray and two lattes. Then the main course. I chose Eggs Benedict with ham, which were okay. I was stuffed and walked away from the sweet tray that came for desert. Who eats that much? For $35 it was a steal. I enjoyed it second to Brunch at the Coronado Hotel on Catalina Island, which costs a cool $150 + tax. The gardens here are sweet and well maintained. The South side of the hotel is loud because of the freeway but the North side is perfect. I spent one night on the freeway side and one on the Columbia River side. Nothing that earplugs won’t fix. If you want a wonderful experience for a reasonable price, come on Sunday and Monday when the prices are low. Weekends are busy and weddings every weekend April through Sept are common. They have a small bar with half a dozen stools and plenty of outside room on the deck overlooking the Columbia River. It is a spectacular view! This hotel has about 40 rooms. It is so darned well run that the GM must be in tune with staff as well as customers. I can’t wait to bring my family back.

Positive: Views and food. The front desk people were very nice as well. Negative: We were told the bride and groom would receive a room compared to a honeymoon suit and it was reserved, but the person in charge who works there to help with the wedding venue never actually paid for it so they got a basic room with no discount.

We loved the jaw-dropping beauty of the gardens and waking up at sunrise to see pink clouds and the Columbia River from our pillows. The hotel is not modern - it's a charming old hotel with lots of personality. The pleasant and helpful staff (front desk, janitorial, wait staff, and entertainment) were equally charming. We loved our stay.

Killer street tacos! These are so authentic you'll feel like you're in Mexican beach town, and they won't break the bank either! The adobada, carne asada, and pork carnitas are excellent.

Surprising little gem of a brew pub. Small tap list focused more on German style beers. Friendly service. Freshnet Helles was very good, Kolsch beer as well. Worth a visit.
