Our group stays here every time we go up state snowmobiling. Love the location and getting breakfast before heading out for the day is a huge plus as well. Owners are as nice as they come go above and beyond to make sure our stay is great everytime we’ve stayed.
I'd stay there again. The hosts were wonderful. The rooms are a bit dated, but clean. John has been working to make things better all the time. They were outstanding hosts in spending a huge amount of time setting up a big tent for our event. The location to parks and hikes and motorcycling roads was fantastic.
We stay here during snowmobile season. We had one of our sleds breakdown on us and we were kind of stuck. John & Shannon to the rescue. John jumped in the car and gave us a very critical ride back to the motel to grab our truck and trailer. Very thoughtful people and it will be the place we always stay when up in the area. Stay here and find out for yourself.
Thanks John & Shannon
We only stayed here one night, passing through the area. We wanted to see the PA Grand Canyon, and it’s very convenient to that. The rooms are quite plain, but they are comfortable and clean, with a mini fridge and a microwave. We didn’t get to enjoy the lake, because the weather was not great, but it’s very picturesque. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and showed us some walking options in the area. The PA Grand Canyon is really beautiful, and worth visiting. We went in to Wellsboro for dinner, and found a very nice place there. They prepared a delicious breakfast for us at the Motel. I would recommend this place if you’re not looking for a fancy motel, but one in a comfortable setting. I would go again.
The owners couldn't be nicer! They bent over backwards to ensure that we had a wonderful visit. I give them my HIGHEST recommendation. There's a pond, with pedal boats, a playground for the kids, an available grill, they even keep a ton of rags out front we used to write l wipe out cycles down!
Nested inside of a mountain range, your surrounded with a stunning view.
Clean comfortable rooms. Great location. Great staff. Beautiful mountains even across the road from motel.
I will be coming back again for another mini vacation :) great homebase to visit Pennsylvania grand canyon and visiting the dark sky on top of a mountain.
I was traveling alone and fishing my way up through Central PA ultimately to end up in Rochester by the following day. I stayed out a bit too long fishing Cedar Run and got caught in a big rain storm. I didn’t have reservations anywhere but wanted to spend the evening in the area because I had time to fish in the morning. I didn’t have cell coverage while on Cedar Run . Truth be told I was driving these back roads hoping to pop out on a main road back with cell coverage where I could then figure out what hotel options I had figuring I would end up in Wellsboro. When I did pop out on a main road I quickly found Colton Point. It looked welcoming so I pulled in and fortunately they had availability. Here’s what I would want to know in deciding where to stay:||Exterior- inviting …it’s what attracted me to stop . |Hospitality - Excellent!|Cleanliness - Excellent |Mattress - very comfortable |Pillow- comfortable ..had variety |Water pressure - excellent |Breakfast - excellent home cooked |Value - excellent |Owners- husband and wife team .. very pleasant and helpful . They are very attentive to making sure your stay is a positive experience. I’d stay again in a minute. Oh yeah…it was John who showed me how to download Google Maps so it runs offline! He also gave me some alternate streams to check out . Thanks John!
I just returned home from a 6 night stay at the Colton Point Motel in Ansonia PA just outside of Wellsboro PA and only a couple of miles from the Pine Gorge area. This is the second time I've stayed here. The couple that owns this place does a great job of making you feel at home and providing clean, quiet rooms on a very nicely maintained property in a rural area. Every time I go back to visit the area I will stay there because it's just such a nice place.
This is where to go to have that alone time with the one you love. This lodge was recommended to us by a friend. We checked it out in April 2023. We loved the room and the quiet atmosphere. There were other people staying there but you would never kn
Nice, well marked trail to the rim. The main trail was gravel, handicapped accessible and well traveled. Less than a mile to spectacular views using the main trail.
There were a couple offshoot trails from the gravel that took you to the rim as well
Plenty of easy & difficult hiking trails & walking paths with views of the canyon. This park seems less visited than Leonard Harrison on the opposite rim. Bonus, road to the park is flanked by Tioga State Forest lands with additional hiking trails, o
The view is amazing! Fall colors, sunset & also watched a lot of eagles! No hike needed to reach the observation point. You can drive it there. Make sure to download the map beforehand, internet is weak once you reach the top.
Great place for biking, the trail is well maintained. Amazing views of the Pine Creek canyon. Comfort areas a.k.a. bathrooms are clean and have baby changing stations.
Favorite place in the valley. Good beer selection. Steak sandwich is the call. Sometimes the wait is long bit who cares, your in the mountains! Staff is all top notch!
Husband and I embarked on another adventure, making a stop at the stunning Hills Creek State Park for an overnight stay. We were in awe of the park's beauty and were pleasantly surprised by our campsite, which offered full hook-up including sewer. Th
A beautiful small park. Being from out of town we were looking for a nice place to sit and take a break. We enjoyed the scenery and watched cars go by while playing cards. They do have power which we used to recharge a cell phone. Would definitely co
We had a great experience at the hotel, from the minute we checked in the guys at the front desk were so knowledgeable on things to do throughout the town, the history of the town and current events going on throughout the town. Dakota in the lounge
