Excellent place to stay. Small, quaint, and quiet. We had 2 units (c15 and c17) for our party of 7. Comfortable beds, well appointed kitchens (though very small), full size refrigerator, great towel service. Beds were comfortable and both units were clean. Easy and pretty walk to the beach. Beach area by condo is not busy, so that is nice for relaxing. A fairly easy walk to the lighthouse end of the island. We didn't swim in the pool, but others were and the water was clean and warm. Bikes for rent on the property and a short drive to the busier tourist spots. After we got there we noticed one of our rooms had a connecting room, so next time I book, I would call and ask for adjoining rooms if a available. A good value , and we would stay here again.
My wife picked out this place for our anniversary trip and we absolutely enjoyed it. C7 was our unit. It’s nice and quiet on the grounds (we were here in November so kinda off season anyway). Everything outside was well kept. The interior of the room was too. I don’t know if all of the rooms look the same but ours was a beach theme. The bed was nice and comfy for us. Kitchen was just big enough for what we needed. Some of the dining items could use a slight update but we didn’t mind. (We’re not one of those people who are all “yuck this is two years old”).||We didn’t use the pool, so no comment on that.||There is a path that can have you on the beach in 5 mins, just make sure you note the building with the spiral staircase, which is how we’d ID were the path was (there’s no sign saying “Colony Inn” on the path).||We’ve found our place to come back to eventually.
This was the second time we stayed here and we love it. So close to the beach, the pool is great, the employees are friendly and helpful. We love the island and the peace and quiet. We are already planning our trip back in the next few months.
We stayed in room C-12. It was an updated room. Walked into a bedroom with two double beds and a very nice built in area with drawers and TV. A few steps from the bedroom through a sliding pocket door, was a completed updated full kitchen and small bath, also updated. Off the kitchen was a living room with pull out couch, love seat, chair, and dining table with chairs. The floors were all updated tile. There was a slider to an enclosed porch overlooking a tree lined walking path. The room has all kitchen amenities. Towels are included. There is also an iron and small ironing board. There is no hair dryer which is disappointing. The Airbnb lists it as having a washer dryer but this is in the laundry area outside of the room, shared by others and is $2 a load. The site includes a small, well maintained, heated pool and sun deck. There are grills and a shell washing station. They do not provide daily housekeeping but if you put your dirty towels in a hamper outside your door they will be kindly replaced. The unit has beach chairs on the porch as well as umbrellas. Every unit at Colony Inn is individually owned and every room looks a little different, can be decorated to the liking of the owner. Our room was on the first floor. The inn has bike rentals, which seem to be cheaper than any other bike rental place. The walking path behind the unit walks right out onto the beach. I highly recommend this location due to ease of getting on and off of the island. Periwinkle is the main thoroughfare and getting towards the other end of the island can be busy and take a while. Bike is preferred method of travel. This end of the island is super relaxed and quiet.
Great quiet place to stay just off the beach. Rooms are individually owned and decorated but all quite beautiful. Small but clean pool. Very friendly and helpful staff. One of the buildings was being renovated while we were there so that was reassuring to see that they keep the buildings up. We've been staying here for close to 20 years and will keep returning.
Our unit was clean, comfortable and functional. Staff was friendly and accessible. Good location. 2 minute walk to the beach and great breakfast/lunch restaurant. Amenities are limited but they have a nice pool and bike rentals available on site. A quiet location for relaxation.
If you're looking for a beach cottage that's clean , family friendly and walking distance to the beach this is the place. It's got a laid back, cozy vibe with a nice pool, grills and bikes available for guests. The staff is nice and Lighthouse Beach park is walking distance . If you want to save money by avoiding restaurants bring your own food because there is a full kitchen in the units (at least the one we where in).||Don't expect 5 star and you'll be happy.
We loved this little place. Very clean. Great patio on our unit (C2). Three minute walk to the beach. Easy to find parking. Lots of cute and useful kitchen supplies provided. Lots of closets. Bathroom was updated and lovely. The staff was friendly and helpful.
This is our second time staying here and both times it was great. Only the second time there was construction in the neighboring cottage and it was noisy. Our dog was very sick and on medication. We could not leave her alone because of the noise t
I have been going to Sanibel Cottages for the past 30 years. Great private beach access, and amazing private pool. It has more of the personal condo feel, rather than a resort atmosphere. We love it to cook and hang out with friends and family. Becau
They think of everything you might need here! They have bikes, beach chairs, towels (for a deposit they give back to you), games, grills, a pool, screened in porches, a great view, are close to the beach, and great service. They also provide laundry
Came here for a mommy get away. The rooms are very welcoming, full kitchen. There was even a towel animal on the bed. It is right on the beach. We had fun, shelling. They have bikes you can rent.
We had a wonderful stay. The condo was clean and had everything we needed. The a/c worked great. The king size bed may need updating, it gave me the feeling of rolling in to the center but I was able to get use to it. There were some pool repairs hap
At their pond is where we finally saw a couple young alligator, plus a turtle, a sleepy tree frog, and big birds. Good selection of garden plants. Looks like a nice place for an event, wedding, or reception.
The island is so damaged from Ian. There was not much wildlife to see. Some of the trails are still closed. There is new growth with some of the plants. Employees were very friendly. The gift shop was very nice and reasonably priced. I'm sure this ar
This beach had top-tier facilities with bathrooms, changing rooms, and outdoor showers and taps to wash your feet! The parking is your standard 5/hr with lots of parking space at the entrance. The only downside is that there is a little bit of a walk
Holly took me out for my birthday tonight and it was amazing. Best meal I have had in years. Absolutely superb, both owners simply delightful and very friendly. I will definitely go back again very soon.
I was so glad to be able to access this beach, especially after the hurricane damage from last season. So many shells! This was my grandson's first shelling experience. It was nice to see there were buckets provided for people to come pick up any tra
I have been this place many times before they moved the location away from south seas. This restaurant is great for a laid-back atmosphere. My son enjoys the seafood here. I enjoy the drinks and the shrimp. It's very family friendly. We have enjoyed
Best place to find large whole shells ð! The parking lot was closed so park at Turner beach and walk over the bridge. Itâs worth it! Also, if you like to fish, this bridge is the place to catch bull sharks! My son and husband caught one was 7ft

We had a wonderful 3-night stay in the Tropical Paradise room. This motel is old and a bit dated, bare bones and no frills. But it had pretty much everything we needed! The most important thing was that it was a short walk to the beach, and comfor
