Colonial Shores - Motel in Panama City Beach - 8512 Surf Dr, USA

Solo female traveler. Room was on small side with one bed, but also had small kitchenette, which is convenient. There was bare minimal silverware and cookware, so if you plan on making full meals, bring that you need. Everything was meticulously clean, even baseboards and window sills. Sheets were clean, towels pure white and fluffy, pillows flat, but that's pretty par for the course, and I brought my own from home. AC was a window unit that was loud when the compressor kicked on, but it didn't disturb me or keep me up at night. Parking lot is small, but everyone was considerate in how they parked, so there were no issues getting in or out. The place was quiet as a church mouse the entire weekend; no partying adults, no rowdy kids running around, and I felt completely safe there. Great price, great location...I've found myself a new place to stay. Great job, Ladies!!

How does this place have so many good reviews?? It’s close to the beach. Otherwise everything about it was terrible. Air conditioner window units are old and so loud we got no sleep. Beds were old and uncomfortable with flat pillows. Bathtub didn’t drain. Light bulbs out in bathroom. Towels had long hair in them. The whole place needs to be renovated. I don’t recommend this place at all.

This place getting 5 stars is a joke, those 5 stars must be from friends I'm sure no tenant in their right mind would give 5 stars except its proximity to the beach. Our room had roaches and they would not change our room. They did however give us a slight refund, but charged us $100 for a lost key. Parking is a major hassle and their security harassed my family that stopped by to pick my daughter up. Simply put I would not recommend this place, if there was any vacancy anywhere during the holiday we would have gladly paid for another room.

I love this place. We have stayed here several times over the years. Should have written a review earlier. It’s an older motel but very clean, very comfortable, very affordable, and awesome location. Thanks Colonial Shores for always being our go to place!!

My friend and I had a difficult start to our trip and we had to find a new place to stay. We wound up Colonial Shores and it just made everything so much better. We rented a suite, it was bigger than I expected and very clean on the inside. The walls were a bit thin, but the noise was never loud enough to keep me up. Its a super short walk to the beach, they also have a pool. And the staff was lovely, just very kind, they even let us check in early.

If you stay here check the brand new ac for the eco mode. My mistake. Awake at 3am sweating. Place is really clean and Lori was sufficiently accommodating and polite. Parking is a lil crazy. Pool is clean. The decorations look home made and are really cute. The maintenance on the unit is less than ideal. The shower is broken and pours over the drain, filling the tub. The bathroom door scrubs the floor. It’s right next to the beach. The TV is only like 30” but I expected that and brought my own :D. The bathroom is really cute! I haven’t seen any security system. The bathroom window is screwed shut. Pretty standard hotel stuff. This is my experience. Water pressure and hot water is really good despite tub filling up.

To start off we encountered a friendly staff. The place was convenient since it was across from the beach. However this place lacked a couple of things. I have a one year old and couldn't give her a bath due to no bath plug and the shower wouldn't become a shower as it leaked everywhere and water jutted out from this weird middle part. They were even missing a shower curtain. Place needs to be renovated, I've seen way better motels. We had to relocate to a hotel.

It was a great stay. The week after the storm we needed a shower and some a/c since power was still out. Every other hotel was booked full when we came across this place. We stayed 3 nights. First night was great, second night the a/c stopped working and it was less enjoyable. 3rd night they were so generous enough to swap our room to one with a fully working a/c. Totally amazing, fair priced, great staff.
