The presentation from the different staff members was very informative and engaging. I'm not huge on history but the gentleman that was doing the tour was so passionate and engaging in his presentation it made it interesting and easy to listen to. I very much enjoyed it. I wish I had the whole day to listen to the other guides. I also very much appreciated that they had mobility scooters available for no additional charge that my aunt was able to use to get around. I would say it's a bit hard to get into the buildings with it but if you can park out front and walk inside it's much better.
Went there as a kid... didn't remember much. First time back this late August. My husband and I, our son and his girlfriend had a great time there...for hours! So much Michigan history to learn. Cool demonstrations. Very interesting! Can't wait to go back and spend more time.
An absolute wonderful experience! Self-guided, very fun to learn about and very well done preservation of American History. Plan to spend around 2 or more hours here! Bonus: great views of the lake and Mighty Mac!
This site is an amazing place to visit for history lovers with a great site, amenities and thoroughly knowledgeable staff. The variety of buildings, ongoing reconstruction, museum components, original charred foundations, fort style kids playground, beach location make this a definite stop on any trip.
Reconstruction of the oldest fort in Michigan (built by the french in the 18th century) and old lighthouse place. Live demonstrations like cannon firing. Great view of the Mackinac Bridge.
Great place for kids has a cool playground and an active excavation. There is a cool walk around the fort over looking the water and a cool walk around the fort on the walls. Lots of stuff to see/do in each room.
Very cool, interactive place to learn about the history of the area. Re-enactments and demonstrations are well done and it’s cool to see archeologists at work.
We really enjoyed exploring the whole Fort! Everyone was super friendly and so knowledgeable! We learned a lot of new things about the 1700's and the fur trade 😊

Gorgeous views of the Mackinaw bridge! I have pictures of my 7yo here when he was a toddler running through the sand. Now my 19mo old gets to enjoy the same park. There's swimming allowed here, but there's also a sign posted to swim at your own risk.
This place is absolutely beautiful and a great place to see the stars. Unfortunately, the day we went, it was cloudy so we were not able to see anything much. The seating area is very nice by the water, they have green space for people who wish to la
Worth a short drive from I75! Party of two seated quickly. Nice atmosphere. Fast and friendly service. Deep menu with lots of comfort food. In addition to the whitefish, we recommend hot turkey sandwich and pot roast sandwiches.
In August, my husband & I took my 2 youngest grandkids on tour in Michigan. We visited Conking Heritage Park. There was a Fur Traders re-enactment festival the 3rd thru they 8th. It was awesome! Its a beautiful little park
Amazing food for a bar, much exceeded my expectations. Some the best onion rings I have ever eaten. Light crispy not greasy. Italian sub was great with fried ham inside, nice touch. Definitely worth making a trip for.
We came here in September 2023. We were choosing between this and another called the Rusty Spoke or something. Chose this for the Belgian beer. So glad we did.
The beer was good, but the atmosphere and the food were amazing. We went in the evening.
Nice shopping area. The center has a stage area where some bands play with benches around to watch. If you're planning to go to mackinac island, some of the souvenirs here are cheaper than at the island itself. Ive compared and some are exactly the s
