This is a great place to rent for both winter and summer vacations. The condos are roomy at about 1200 sq.ft. with two floors plans offering either two or three bedrooms. They are individually owned and rented through Collins Lake Resort. There is a heated pool and large outdoor hot tub open year round. These units are a short walk to the center of Government Camp for dining out, or shopping for food and liquor and the general store. There is something for the whole family.
The good: Place is spacious and clean What is lacking: Upon arrival we encountered 3 broken chairs and a seriously unusable kitchen. We don't have a coffeemaker, enough plates or cups for each person (we are 6 in our group). There are other items broken/non functional. BUT- a chair, a cup and a plate per person (!!) I count as the bare minimum lodging should provide. Further, after contacting Vacasa promptly (within 2 hours of arrival) via text and providing them the requested pictures AND calling them and being on hold for 20 minutes, non of the items have been addressed of fixed in the 2 days! I get random texts back from AI (is my guess) . Example at 12.21 AM " Thank you for the pictures" and "they already have sent that over to the local manager". Non of the issues have been addresses or fixed.
Room was FILTHY. When we spoke to the office, they got defensive and blamed not changing the bedding or wiping down any surfaces on the fact it was a dog unit. So all they’d do is give us new sheets, which they did, but it wasn’t enough to change out the two beds we requested. Also wouldn’t give us new comforters. 800 bucks for two nights and they don’t even replace the sheets, comforters or blankets. Absolutely disgusting. Also found a cannabis joint and half eaten granola bar in the night stand. Coffee pot was filthy. Stains on every single piece of furniture and pillows. Unit wasn’t vacuumed prior to us arriving. Floor FULL of hair. You can’t touch the carpet without being covered in human and animal hair. Not to mention the stained beds had human hair between the sheets. Who doesn’t change sheets!? This place is deplorable. Would not recommend staying here. Reminds me more of a frat party room than a place to bring your family. Camping on the ground outside would be cleaner. 0 stars.
Negative: The cancellation policy was punitive. I had intended to ski at Mount Hood, but the resort closed a few days before my planned trip. With the 30 day cancellation policy, I lost the entire amount of my pre-paid reservation. Never again.
Rented unit 33 in J building. Note, no reviews are available on their website, which is a yellow (or red) flag. First of all: 1- Site says "sleeps 8". No way. Small bunk and 2 queen beds = 6 people max. Small room/tight layout. 2- Beds- mattresses probably 30 years old and NOT COMFORTABLE --- make it very hard to sleep. Hope the other units are better but no way to know (search for the specific unit review on Google?) 3- Dining room chairs- worn through, with holes. Not comfortable and just waiting to fall completely apart. Overall- great location, check-in, and pool. But units are dated and will not be comfortable unless some minimal investment is made to keep them up. Kind of a shame, but likely with such high demand (and no formal reviews on their site) they can get away with very sub-par furniture. **update— after informing management they made efforts to 1) help identify units with newer furniture, for any future stay and 2) provide a small future discount. So plus one star. just know these units vary quite a bit. and pricey.
I stayed in the Grand Lodge Unit #2 by far a great experience and mini getaway. The kitchen was better equipped than my home, the owner has provided everything we could possibly require, the beds were the most comfortable we have ever slept in and very spacious. We felt so welcome and will definitely return.
We had a wonderful week here - all of the stores and restaurants of Government Camp were a stones throw. The condo was clean and well appointed, we only have good things to report!! Our kids were in ski camp and both the mountain and town were amazing. We’ll be back next year!
Check in was smooth, condo was well stocked, and communication was clear and uncomplicated. We really enjoyed them leisure hot tub in the forest and sauna to soothe our sore muscles from skiing. Thank you for making our visit wonderful.

Beautiful historic location for our work event. Not the best road conditions considering the ice storm the days prior, but they had a shuttle available if needed. They had a veteran discount for the rooms. The rooms are very small. But not unexpecte
Portions aren't big but the food is FANTASTIC and the service was phenomenal. They ask about dietary restrictions up front and make helpful tips. Highly recommend making reservations which we failed to do. But staying the night at Timberline Lodge, w
