Nice park but mosquitos were horrid. We stayed in December, tried outdoor fogger, cutter deep woods, all natural but nothing worked. So couldn't enjoy outdoors much at all unless fast walk or bike ( my case, wheelchair). Saw a black bear cross the road while heading to boat launch ... that was cool. Facilities were nice, some sites were tight but others were quite nice. We did go on the go cats, it was alright but not much to see. Wouldn't go back again because of the bugs

Great potential but truly in need of some TLC. Two night stay. Sites are electric and water only, mix of gravel and dirt and most are small. Some shade. Two bath houses. One at the back of the Park is newer and nicer. One bar on T-Mobile. Old picnic table and fire ring. The one Nature Trail; Royal Palm Hammock Trail, is closed permanently. The "Block House" is closed and the Seminole Indian Village is in disrepair. Also notice very high water pressure, so definitely plan to install a pressure valve. Mosquitos were out in swarms, forcing most campers to hide in their RVs. Our neighbors from Canada commented the bugs were the worse they had seen in years. After two days, we were glad to be moving on. Lots of resupply options nearby but I would suggest avoiding the Texaco Gas Station right outside the Park entrance to the left. We pulled in and noticed low octane gas was $3.95 while down the road a few miles into town it was $3.15. Lots of signs warning about bears and to avoid leaving trash and food out. Of course, the nearby dumpsters were so full of trash, trash bags were overflowing on the ground. We have no plans to visit this Park again.

This was a very nice park. I really looked forward to spending the weekend here but sadly, I could not make it through the night into the second day without being eaten alive. Just trying to walk around the park, the level of mosquitoes were so bad that I came back into my camper with mosquito bites on every exposed piece of skin on my body, my neck and my face and my feet looked like I had chicken pocks. Short of that, I may have given this park a five star review, so if you’re going there in October, hoping that it will be a little bit cooler and there may be less mosquitoes, sadly, you will be mistaken. There are a lot of good boating areas from what I could see upon first inspection. It was still daylight when I arrived, so I drove around the park and also took a spin on my bike. The state park rangers are always friendly and knowledgeable and the park with certainly well-maintained. The bath houses were pretty clean and all seem to be in working order.

The park is clean and the walking dredge was cool. 2🌟 because they let us pay to get into the park without informing us that the only real walking trail was closed. The only thing to do at the park seemed to be boat and kyak rentals.

Beautiful park, camp ground, picnic area by mini boat rentals. Some beach areas unaccessible due to hurricane damage. Take mosquito precautions serious here, doesn't seem park treats.

Unfortunately there was a large group of Spanish speaking gang. Do not approach . Rules did not apply to them. Partying and loud whoops until after waking all the campers up. I wanted to drive thru their campsite at 5 A.M. Refrained. Ranger and assistants were nice ladies. Prices was decent. Nice crowd. Restrooms were emaculate. Laundry machines on property were in big demand.
