This coffee shop has a special place in my heart as it was one of my firsts dates with my partner. I love the neighborhood feel of the shop as it’s tucked away from the hustle bustle. The treats and coffee is great but what makes this place really stand out is the service and the owner. Philip goes out of his way to make coffee beer a part of the community with different events and greeting customers when they arrive. It’ll be sad to see this place go but I’m staying optimistic. We’ll see you again coffee beer.
I'll miss this place a lot. 100% vegan which means there was no up charge for oat milk. They did a great matcha latte and had amazing service.
Coffee Beer is such a chill place to enjoy some good coffee, delicious pastries, and they have an excellent selection of craft beer. The vibes of this place are on point. They are super nice and welcoming! If you are in the area, definitely stop by and check them out, you won’t regret it!!
This is our go-to coffee shop with adjacent vegan convenience store. Well-made drinks and baked goods, great beer variety - on tap and bottled, slushie machine in the summer!, friendly and accommodating staff, comfy atmosphere, clean facilities, and fun events and pop ups; just an all around great community hang. Love love love the adjacent vegan store they opened next door. Definitely filled a gap. Lots of yummy snacks, baking and cooking staples - flours/pastas/sauces/etc, and great freezer selection. Walkable neighborhood, street parking.
Coffee shops have become such an essential Keystone of the culture. I mean, I remember back when a cup of coffee was something (usually pretty dank) that you got at the local diner for next to nothing, more of a fast and dirty street drug than a fulfilling experience. This shows my age, but when modern coffee shops came on the scene, I thought it was a passing fad. Don't invest in my prophetic abilities. In fact, I was living in Japan when the phenomenon started and I thought, Man! What a weird idea. Fast forward to the nearly ubiquitous community gathering places that dot our towns like like freckles on on a redhead and that brings me to Coffee Beer. They are vegan and I didn't notice which is a huge point in their favor. I honor and respect people that tread that particular path, but I'd rather slack myself in the face with a porcupine than try and live a vegan lifestyle. Well Played Coffee Beer! Insidious... So the drinks were good, the place was welcoming, the weather was just right, and the company was a treasure. We came from out of the area for a very special meeting and chose Coffee Beer out of the hat based on its reviews. It was an important meeting that meant a lot to us and having a safe and welcoming place was so important. The meeting went well, we never felt pressure to buy more or move on, the vibes were good. So funny that coffee shops have become such hubs of their communities, such universal havens. Thank you Coffee Beer for recognizing that and making the experience just right. Maybe we should pass a law that instead of churches being the traditional sanctuaries they could be coffee shops.
LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about this place! Philip and our barista(I'm sorry that I don't remember their name) were incredibly friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is chill inviting. And who wouldn't love being able to get amazing coffee and beer at the same spot!? We will definitely be back!!
Got a giftcard for here when we moved to the area. Easily has become our favorite coffee shops as the coffee is wonderful every time. The servers are always extremely nice and fast. The shop is always clean and has a great vibe. Even as non-vegans, we’ve enjoyed everything we’ve had here.
We are so fortunate to have this all-vegan cafe (and bar) right in our neighborhood. The owner Phil is one of the best people you'll ever meet. The atmosphere is welcoming, friendly, and chill. I love stopping by for my mocha and baked good (currently from Tipping the Scales -- try the cookies!) or burrito every week or two. Thank you for being such a great presence in our neighborhood, thank you for your delicious coffee, beer, baked goods, burritos (and hot dogs next door). If/when I leave the neighborhood I'll be soooo sad I can't walk here anymore.
If you go to any coffee shop in all of Portland, this has to be the one! Ryan has so much experience in coffee and it absolutely shows. He puts so much care into each cup of coffee that he makes and his latte art is phenomenal ð¥ His espresso is ab

The bright, clean, quiet environment of Capitola Coffee is inviting and open. I had the pour over, and my friend had a salted caramel cappuccino. The coffee was great, although I think my pour over was brewed a bit high, but I realize it's nit-pickin
I really enjoyed this coffee shop. I got lucky with an open comfy, brown leather chair and a delicious oat cappuccino. I also ordered the breakfast sandwich and opted to add the jalapeno salmon spread. Highly recommend that spread, it was amazing!!
