Coastal Valley Inn - Motel in Castroville - 10341 Merritt St, USA

Very dirty. I think the housekeepers hate the owner. I woke up with a swollen face because of roach bites.

My room was clean and modern. It was quiet even though it faced the street. No dresser in which to put your clothes, but it did have a microwave, small refrigerator and a functioning TV. Don’t expect housekeeping or fresh towels and linens. You have to request new towels. And for soap they give you a tiny bar that looks like a cough lozenge (see pic.) It’s the only game in town but overall it is worth it.

We were warned that check-in was no later than 11pm. Nice guy at the front desk, looks like it's a family run business. The parking lot is almost full. The room is nice, it is clear that the repair is not the cheapest. But dirty. Dirty sticky floor, rubbish and hair in the bathroom. For 4 people only 3 or 4 small towels. The beds are very comfortable. The heater cannot be set to maintain the temperature: it either blows and is very hot or cold if it is turned off. There is no coffee machine. We only needed to sleep so ok

I was very skeptical about the $100 deposit. But after I read some reviews, I had to get a receipt of my returned money, which he didn't like it and came up saying after the end of the day, BS very rude and unprofessional demeanor. The room was ok, that's what we get for a cheap $80 dollar room..

Location was great as my husband and I traveled along the coast and Castroville was a perfect central point. The location was quiet, the bed was comfy and the room was spacious. It hadn’t appeared to have been cleaned upon checking in and the linens didn’t seem changed so we put on our own bedding and cleaned the room ourselves before we got comfortable. For the price and as little time as we spent in the room it was perfect for our stay however not ideal for most I would imagine.

Pros- spacious rooms, cheap prices, clean sleeping area.||Cons- No front desk support, terrible house cleaning, very little parking, rude employees, bed not comfortable||||Can't in good coincidence give them anymore than 2 stars when, as guest, we request a roll of toilet paper at 6am because the house keeper didn't fill the roll the day before and we are told to wait till 9am. I was forced to go to the truck and look for napkins from past fast food visits.

Room was dirty, bed dirty, hairs all over the bed and bathroom

This was a terrific stay! Clean, comfortable, felt like a new room, will definitely stay again if in the area!
