Horrible experience. As soon as we walked in, the smell was horrible, and cockroaches all around. Countless flies and moths were flying around the room. When I went to shower, I was randomly hit with either freezing cold or burning hot water without moving the handle. The shower was nasty with mold, hair, and a toothpick as well. The door didn't even work as we had to use 2 people to slam the door in just for it to lock. On top of all that, there was no A/C when after they replaced our unit. Overall, I wish I could give this 0 stars as this place was disgusting and a horrible experience. The only thing worthy of a star was the TV that worked but had a sticky remote control.

Best in lake George if you’re a professional or family-oriented adult. Quiet place, safe, clean, location is the best (avoid all the traffic gettin in and out of town. Cyclists love this place because of the hill and privacy we demand owning nice gear. BigTVs, but completely quiet rooms. The view is incredible and mornings here are the best. Never get woken up by lawn mowers or loud employees, truly the best if you’re the creative type who likes to be close the action if you feel like venturing out. Only hotel I’ve stayed at in Lake George that has great water pressure, expensive towels, quality toilet paper…. It’s the little things. Feels family owned. What I like best is, of all the people staying here, I’m probably the only that looks like the Adirondack white trash with missing teeth and sunken chin, (it’s a Warren county thing I guess) that you’d be hoping to avoid, the best guests and neighbors! You’ll find it a great value and the rooms quant, creative cross between a cabin-style stay, and a commercial corporate joint. Rooms have safes but you won’t need it probably because it’s more like a development than a Ventura boulevard hideout. Lots of character! Never been in the poo, but it’s the cleanest I’ve seen, and it super well lit but nobody’s doing belly flops, but if you did, nobody would scald you for getting a little expressive lol.. great place!

Stayed here six nights and was absolutely right up there with one of the worse places we have stayed. We booked three rooms and the rooms were never cleaned during our stay except when my son in law borrowed a vacuum. The beds were only made because we made them and even had to request a change of sheets. The faucets in the bathtub are ready to fall out of the wall. There is no happy medium with the refrigerator. Ironing board was broken and it took well over three hours to get a toilet plunged. Two nights before our departure there were new families that arrived and were running all over and yelling at 2am. Complained to office and they stated they were aware and that they were all leaving. They didn’t and I am certain the office was aware so we wouldn’t leave for another motel. We asked to be moved to their Travelodge and were told it was booked solid even though the parking lot was empty. By all means do not include this place in your travel plans.

I rarely write reviews, I try to look for positives, and I hate writing something that may negatively impact a small business during these times. I see other reviews stating that their room was dirty. On the contrary, our room was actually VERY clean. It was definitely dated and in need of renovations, but, the bathroom was nearly immaculate and the floors were very clean. The bed was fine and seemed to have brand new sheets and blankets. I believe the woman who checked us in was working hard to do her best, but it seemed she had very little help. In fact, she was the only employee we saw the entire stay. They don't clean the room if you're staying multiple nights, which was fine with us, but something to be aware of. Negatives: There was NO breakfast provided, as advertised, which I assume is due to Covid-19 restrictions, but who knows. Continental breakfast was one of the reasons we chose this motel, and ended up with the extra expense of having to go out for breakfast. There were people smoking marijuana in the rooms surrounding us (all day long), which we could smell in our room, and also led us to leave a night early. We have a 1 year old and didn't want her around it. Positives: The pool was very nice. Cable TV, WIFI, and air-conditioning worked fine. A hard-working and very pleasant manager. The location is actually fantastic. There's a great view of surrounding mountains on the front side of the motel, it's less than a 5 min drive to downtown Lake George (walking distance if you're up for it), and it's basically right off the highway. Very easy to get to. Also walking distance to mini-golf and an arcade, which were unfortunately closed due to Covid-19.

This review will be quite long so if you don’t feel like reading all of it, just heed this warning: You are better off sleeping in your trunk. When we booked online, the website said we had until 11 p.m. to check in which was perfect for us. We got to the dilapidated motel at approx. 10:45 and found the front door locked with two families trying to contact the owner. One family’s key didn’t work and they were locked out of their room and the second family was also trying to check in. There were two numbers listed on the door that we were all trying to call. One number went straight to voicemail, however, since the voice mailbox wasn’t set up, the call immediately ended. The second number also went to voicemail. Finally, the owner picked up on one of the lines and we were told that the office closes at 10 p.m. and we were SOL. He then promptly hung up. When I called back, it once again went to voicemail. At 11:30, the owner’s brother came to the property to help us. We got our room key and just when we thought everything was fine, we opened our door to find another family sleeping inside. They weren’t thrilled, neither were we. We went back to the front desk, got a new *empty* room and no apology. Our room was humid and smelled of mold. The carpets and walls were dirty and the only toiletry was a bar of soap. The shower was rusted and moldy and the toilet barely flushed. We literally spent as little time in that room as possible. After spending the next day out, we returned to our room only to find our key didn’t work. I walked down to the front desk and the door was again locked. This was at 9:45. Luckily, the owner’s brother saw me from another room and came to help me. At least he was pleasant. Saying this place was a dump is an insult to dumps. I don’t recommend staying here but if you do, make sure your tetanus shot is up-to-date.

I’ve stayed at many Hotels in LG, from the iconic Georgian Hotel in the early 1980s, to the Village Estates (cabin style experience) and I can confidently tell that the Cloud 9 (which appears to have acquired the Travelodge next door) is the best. Here’s why. ||Location: no waiting time! Right off the highway! Closer to convenient stores and “faster” (real) food locations that I demand on the run. ||Setting: I don’t want to hear party animals all night, and Cloud 9 has a great balance of family element, but they somehow know how to appear non-welcome to rid-raf. The owners are on-site, helpful hard working, people oriented folks who are in this for the long haul there’s a house option, cabin style set back privately more towards the woods, and ALL of the rooms have that more solid type build (especially the rooms by the pool; you have the option of facing the quiet hillside, or the gorgeous pool view with the rolling mountains, right by a bike trail entrance. Rooms are quiet (I have disorganized schizophrenia, and nobody seems to hear me talk to myself occasionally) I feel more welcome here than any other place I’ve stayed on lake George. ||The pillows are awesome and the mattresses new! Fridges that work, STRONG water PRESSURE (a must) and a shower big enough to fit my now, larger gut and American body structure. ||QUIET! Sometimes you’ll hear laughter, but never drunken sailors lol, there’s family style elevated grills on a well kept lawn area, mornings here are we some!||There’s less mosquitos here, could be the way they keep the landscaping idk, but if I catch an Uber or greet a delivery person, it’s not like I need to spray down my room etc lol, just a unique place to stay. ||Affordability: I’ve recommended friends and they claim the rates are fair (the state pays for me to stay here so maybe my opinions a bit biased, just to be transparent, and NYS has in fact, my rooms paid monthly and I’m more than satisfied with the value. ||Oh! I’ve heard the pool rocks! Peaceful and immaculate, I’m not into water very much and sorta a recluse but the people at the pool seem to be having normal USA fun you’d find at your own home probably. ||Cyclist favorite! Some people walk the hill, but I walk mine on the way down cuz I’m not strong enough to control the speed of my bike going down that castle-like hill. ||There’s trails right off the property! Take your pick and enjoy the possibilities of organic exercise! No gym needed!

When we first pulled into the cloud nine I said this was it, my vacation dojo. I was not disappointed. Unlike so many other reviewers I did not smell the grim eldritch of worlds past. Quite the opposite, I thought the room had a lovely cavendish finish, and was comfortably lived in. The coffee was solid and the continental breakfast was a Caligulan spread. I could have eaten dinner off any surface in the room without the fear of contracting hepatitis, like you do at those big name hotels. I really dug the green wall highlights. It really made the rooms pop. The desk staff were sane and plentiful, I suggest tipping accordingly. They may have an easy job living in such a plum edenous garden, but they work hard for the money.

I stayed here a week with my daughters. It's no frills at a very reasonable price. Great pool. Clean rooms. Manager is always around. If you want to get pampered go uptown and pay 3x more. My daughters and I stayed here every summer for the past five years.
