The folks who run the museum are incredible! They went out of their way to give our students at Midwest Truck Driving School a tour during the closed season and they opened up the attractions for our students to see! Everyone came back ranting and raving so much so that the office staff was jealous that they hadn't been able to see it for themselves! Totally amazing people and great display of local history! Thank you all who were involved!
What a neat museum, they have definitely put a ton of effort into the display, stories told, and tour given. Our tour guide was wonderful, knowledgeable, and happy to answer any questions. It was a good way to learn a lot more about the iron range and it's history.
Really do recommend this place, and take time to do the tour. Our tour guide actually worked in the mine when it was operational. Rebecca, one of the volunteers, noticed that my grandson is differently abled and she signed for him and gave him a private tour. Rebecca is amazing - thank you!
The museum was amazing, full of lots of pictures and items. As well as a well sizes rock and minerals exhibit as well a art work inspired by mining. The tour was great as well and very well done.
A great tour with lots of geology, mining and history ran by great volunteers. The lady in the gift shop was very kind and welcoming. Mark the tour guide was knowledgeable and great at responding to questions. Dave the blacksmith was welcome to our large group while he worked his craft. Dave the tour guide for the last 1/2 of the tour was amazing. As an old miner he knew a lot about old mine history as well as newer mining industries. He was awesome about sharing his 3rd generation miner heritage as well beaming with pride to being part of preserving the site for future generations
A wonderful view back in to the rich mining history of Michigans upper peninsula. The museum alone is worth the stop but for a modest fee a guided tour is offered that takes you inside the C shaft head frame and allows you to walk the grounds. Tons of cool sights, history, artefacts and lovely people.
Was a great place to learn about the history of the mining industry. Loved seeing the old pit truck. This had to be a amazing place back in its time. Would have been nice to be able to see or even go into the shaft but still alot to take in.
So Cool!!! Worth the price, very interesting! You could spend hours inside and out!

Awesome hike. Really short. Falls were somewhat tricky to find. GPS wanted to take me through private property. Even the actual road in to the trail seemed like we weren't supposed to be there lol
I love this place! It's part of home, it's part of me when I return home to visit! The cudighi is spot on (frozen and to go as well!). I always get the frozen cheese tortellini and cheese ravioli, and their gnocchi is to die for! Many other Italian i
Went there on a Friday night so it was extremely busy, but it was worth the wait. The fish was good and got a very good-sized piece. The waitress was awesome was very attentive. Would definitely go back.
Everything great about a small town Italian restaurant. Great food and good company with a laid back atmosphere. We ordered the bread sticks (full not Half) and mozzarella sticks. The bread sticks came on a 14" pizza pan covered in cheese and parmesa
This is a great place. Had a veggie chicken wrap, excellent! The service and atmosphere were outstanding. Waitress checked on us several times, very professional. Highly recommended a visit.
