Beautiful piece of history! No matter what season or time of year!!
Absolutely stunning and beautiful drive. It’s very peaceful and not many people were on this road when I was on it. You can stop in many spots to soak it all up and take photos. Enjoy the beauty of the U.P. on this special road of trees and gorgeous cliffs. ❤️
It a great place to explore. We did not make it to the cemetery the water levels were high. It’s hard to imagine the area treeless and as an active mine now with all of the growth. It a cool hike, very steep at times . Beautiful country.
We have come here many times over the years, and we always find something new. There is a Cliff Drive Lookout, but we have never managed to get up there. We hear it takes 4x4, and we had a Jeep Grand Cherokee, but we decided not to go up that road. We did cross the littler river though! Take your time here. There is a cemetery (and lots of poison ivy), there are a few walls, and remains of this old mining village, but not much. There is a chimney, and a few other things. The rock formations here are beautiful!
Awesome little copper spot. The history to this place is kind of wild.
Great historic copper mine. Many foundations to see if you are willing to get into the woods. Huge mine tailings piles. Lots of cool rocks, minerals and copper if you're lucky.
This is a great place to find copper-containing minerals and rocks. There is a specific parking area on the road that has a bridge over the small creek. Find that and your adventure will be easier.
So glad we stopped in! The freshly-baked wheat bread and blueberry pie were both amazing! Also really enjoyed the excellent cookies and we are anticipating the jam as we havenât tried it yet. Such an unassuming little place, but had to stop and che
Pristine Lake Superior shoreline. Gorgeous sand beaches, beautiful rock formations and rustic roadside facilities. Make sure this is on your list of places to go while in the U.P.
Cool little beach, great place to view sunset (at least in the summer months, when it sets more to the northwest; can't speak to what it's like in winter months. Probably frozen.). Rocks are smooth but still can be slow to trudge through. We thought
This is a great place and a great location. Easy to get to and on a good corner of the street. Very cool on the inside, they sell ice cream, food, souvenirs, etc. I had a shake. It was a good consistency and I love how they give you wider straws for
Best burger I've had in a long time! Got the Buffalo blue cheese cooked medium. Better beer selection than expected as well. Will 100% be back, and cannot wait.
