Clayton House Motel - Motel in Loves Park - 4800 N 2nd St, USA

My husband and i stayed at the clayton house last year, the room was cozy and clean with no bugs, the motel is surrounded by many attractions which was a plus for us as we dont drive so walking is how we hot around and the reateraunts, bowling alley, gas statuons etc are all in walking distance and right on the river so the scenery was beautiful and relaxing in the evening, the staff is very nice, we would definitely stay there again in our future travels...

The place is NOT clean all of it,the people are NOT nice,I will NEVER go there again not even for $10 a night,and YES they do have BED BUGS,woke up with bites on MY legs and Back.. Very BAD two nights there was going to stay for 5 nights but went down the street paid $6 dollars more but SO MUCH NICER..For REAL DON'T STAY THERE..SUCKS..I just seen that they have New Owners,and ive been told that the workers nice and that the Rooms are clean now and no bed bugs if all that is true..then I'm happy for them.. Would I have recommended this place a year ago? No. Would I recommend this place now? ABSOLUTELY. The new owners are amazing. Truly the nicest people ever. They are working hard to update and improve this place and it shows. I had a great stay and I would stay again!

It's located where there isn't only but one bus. And you can walk to any store besides a circle k because its so far away from errthing. The owners are nice, ir at least to me, and work with you on payments. And rooms are basic. Just bed, TV, and table.

We reserved the room for a week. When I called I was told they allowed pets up to 40 lbs and the rate was going to be either 55 dollars a night or 290 for the whole week. I went to check in early and paid for the whole week. The gentleman at the check in was rude. He asked who would be in the room. I told him myself and my husband, he responded and what about the children in your car now. They were not staying with us and would not be staying the night. We stayed only one night because the next day, the same gentleman that checked us in, came into our room while my husband was sleeping without knocking or notice. He stated that he did so because he seen a cat. That there was a no pet policy. Then then repeatedly called the room stating that since the cat was in the car, because I was getting her things in the trunk, they are calling animal services. So I immediately took my cat to a friend's house for our stay but within the few minutes it took to gather her things, they called animal services and stated we had both a cat and a dog in the room. This was false. After I left, the check in gentleman then repeatedly called and harassed my husband to the point that he loaded our things in the truck and we left. The rooms are dirty, it looked like there was pee on the wall beside the bed. The toilet when you would sit on it would move off the floor forward. There was ashes all over the room. The pillows smelled like sweat, we did not use their pillows. There is no refrigerator or microwave in the rooms, unless you want to rent them. There was also burn marks on all furniture. Then on top of all this when we asked for a refund for the nights we didn't stay, we were only refunded 105 dollars out of the 290 we paid them and had to come back the next day because they didn't have the money to refund us. There was always the person that was next to us coming out and staring at our room when we would go in and out of the room. There was homeless people in the trash in the front about 10 feet from the entrance of our room. Also there was, drug addicts in the parking lot of all hours of the night. This is not what the pictures look like and a horrible place to stay.

Friendly workers great place to stay at cleaned up rooms n remodeling rooms at a time great place to go to have make friends n socialize with new people kid friendly loves kids it’s safe to stay at for trips and whatever else you need come stay with us enjoy family time together in a safe motel to stay at please come we would love have you guys stay with us

For $40 bucks a night it is somewhere to have a roof over your head and better then a park bench. A friend of mine fell on hard times and when money ran out this I where she ended up. Rooms aren't too clean, but NO bugs. No Wi-Fi either, but like I said, cheapest room we could find. I will leave you with this advice, keep the deadbolt locked, chain on and your head on a swivel 😘
