Perfect place for some water time. I use it for biking and running and what ever savage needs you may have. Hot as hades in the summer, chilly AF in the winter. Dress accordingly. Lots of snakes so be wary, as many good ones as there are bad ones so don't be quick to lose your junk over them. Just steer clear of the rattlesnakes. Trail runs basically from Folsom dam to Discovery park downtown. Lots of options, epic, always changing terrain. Great for exercise of all kinds. Get out there, get some sun, sweat it up and enjoy.
Love this place, easy to watch and control your kids here and feel safe about them not getting washed up by the current. Other than it being very rocky here, just wear water shoes.. the little cliffs are awesome to jump into the water!!
This is one of my favorite spots, anywhere! The American River bends just upstream at the El Manto Rapids. You can access these splendid, wide rapids from the east end of Ambassador Drive without the standard parking fee that most trailheads along the river require. The Clay Banks are several hundred yards in a straight stretch, rising up on the south side of the clear river waters. In the middle of this stretch are a smaller set of rapids that are a delight for rafters and kayakers. Just downstream of the Clay Banks, the river opens to an impressive flood plain where the stones have been smoothed to their distinct rounded shapes over untold expanses of time. Then the river meets another big bend at the San Juan Rapids, another wonderful spot, but more of a hike since there is not direct access to any roadway or bike path.
Easy access to the river for swimmers and rafters, plus a 10-15 foot cliff to jump off. Nice gentle rapids just above and below. Egrets and beaver in the area
Awesome scenery beside bike trail with picnic tables
Beautiful, scenic, along the American River....great place for hiking on a beautiful Spring day like today. I hiked in 2.5 miles stopped and ate a little breakfast, did some journaling and meditation, then walked back 2.5 miles.
One of the best places to swim at American River, family friendly, the tide pools are shallow and great fun for kids
Clean and great place to see wildlife. Deer are usually around in the evening

This is an awesome park and a hidden treasure. The playground is super cute. Tons of grass and a lot of picnic tables. Bathrooms are super clean. They just need to add some more BBQ Grills (I think they have only two now). Overall, its a great place
This park is our new favorite place to visit with my family. It is right next to the bike trail and the river and perfect to get some fresh air and relax. My child absolutely loves the animals that are next to the barn which includes a goat, chickens
Great Lawn and Tree nature. The park is clean and well maintained. It is located right next to a school and there are two tables and a place for barbecue. I highly recommend coming here just to relax and have a picnic.

I didn't consider myself a donut fan until I tried Allen's. There's never a bad bite, but the triangular choc-covered cream filled is chefs kiss. We love the maple bars, crumb, and cream-filled donut holes, too. Everything is always fresh and the ser

Lovely local cafe. The food is delicious. Shared 2 dishes with a friend. Delicious homemade food and generous portions. We each had a rice plate (chicken kabob and chicken breast). So tasty plus two sides. For the price, it was an affordable lunch! D
