Clarion Inn & Suites University Center - Hotel in Auburn - 1577 S College St, USA

This is an older hotel that basically has been given a face lift. The staff are nice enough. It has plenty of passenger car parking. Is close to the interstate and down town. The area is safe and we had no issues with noise. They do not allow “party rooms”. Anyone being loud, using rooms for parties or creating a disturbance will be asked to leave or the police will be called to have them leave. This policy is posted at the front desk. The rates are excellent for the area. It has two banquet rooms totaling 9000sf. They have a pool. Provide a “brown bag breakfast “. Which is coffee plus a brown lunch bag containing a bottled water and a sausage and egg biscuit. We had a non-smoking two double bed room. The room was very clean, no odor, no bugs etc. It included a microwave, mini-fridge, coffee pot, iron with board, hairdryer, color tv with cable and the AC was super cold. We had to leave a night early and they refunded our room for that night even though we left after check out time. The reason I gave them a three over all is we had to get a remote from another room for TV, ours was missing. They missed cleaning our room the second morning. The ice machine was broken. All guest rooms open to the outside. I prefer inside hallway doors. The doors have card read key from outside with a deadbolt on the inside. They do not have a peephole in the door and no second lock on the inside. There is no safe. They are too strict on check in and out times. We arrived 30 minutes early and were unable to check in.

Positive: Nothing!! Negative: It was dirty, musky, dusty, and stained. I was to tired to drive anywhere else. I paid for a King room and got 2 dusty beds. Stain in the shower. Roaches. The water turned gray when it hit the tub from the dust. Never again

I usually don't leave reviews because Im not picky and have stayed in several hotels but this hotel is nasty. I kept trying to find a way overlook things and just chill out since we would only be staying 1 night. I couldn't stay their. The bugs were too much for me. Bedding nasty and holes in them. Refrigerator nasty. The pictures are misleading. This hotel is nasty. For $237 for 1 night. Definitely not worth it. I couldn't bring myself to stay there. Luckly I was able to get a room at another hotel down the road. Other than that I would have slept in my vehicle.

If I could give this a negative stars I would. This has got to be the worst experience at a hotel possible. Checked in and the manager let us know that breakfast was no longer provided and we could hit up burger King down the street. Got to the room, door didn't close all the way and it smelled a little weird. Walked in the room to check the beds like I do everywhere I stay, pulled back the bead spread that had a grease stain on in to find that the bed and cover had a huge pee stain on it. Not sure why I looked further.. but there were signs of bed bugs at the top of the bed. Looked in the bathroom door didn't shut all the way... we were done. We stayed there for possibly 30 minutes and we found another place to stay. Don't stay there! Horrible.

I would give this place a -1000 stars. My first flag should have been how empty the parking lot was. If I were a crackhead and I needed a pay by the hour room, I would not stay here. It is that bad. I walked into the room slower than I walked out. The list of things wrong is too long to post. I carry and I didn't feel safe. DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL. PICTURES ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE TO WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE.

Absolute trash. All the negative reviews you see are true. I saw all the negative ratings, but decided to give this place a chance anyway. Totally regretted it. The first room we went to had a tub half full of water because the drain was clogged. There was also no toilet tissue. Called the front office to tell them about both and they gave us another room (and told us they don't provide toilet tissue. That'll be important in a second. Keep reading). The drain in the second room was clogged too, but I didn't find that out until the next morning when I tried to shower. At least this one had toilet tissue in it (we assumed they were bought from the previous tenants. However, we saw a cart they bring to clean rooms supplied with toilet tissue, so did the person at the front desk lie to us?). While walking around trying to find our first then second room, we saw a bunch of doors that looked like they had been kicked in and then repaired with Elmer's glue or something, including the doors to BOTH of the rooms we were sent to! There was no hairdryer in either room as advertised online. There was no microwave in either room as advertised online. There was no morning breakfast as advertised online. All of the vending machines that were advertised online were "out of order". There were a bunch of gnats in the sink room outside of the shower in both rooms. There were stains all over the carpet in both rooms. All of the people in the front office struggle with English, have an accent, and are hard to understand. This place is absolute garbage and was one of the worst places I've ever stayed in. Avoid at all costs. You've been warned.

This may be the worst hotel ever. Sure, it has a pool. It has only a small amount of filthy water and rotting poolside furniture. Check out room 142. The door was off its top hinge leaving it open at the bottom. It made a nice home for ground squirrels. I frankly do not understand why the building has not been condemned. It took disgusting to a whole new level. |.

Me and my mom check into room 125. Door look like been kick in. Barely shut or locked. Room smelled so bad that gave us head ache made us nauseous. Cigarette buds all over floor with other black stains.One lamp was missing and another wasn’t even plug in couldn’t find socket plug it in. Everything was dirty. The walls had stuff on them bed look grossed. Soon we sat on bed started itching bad. The front guy was really rude when we told we weren’t staying. Didn’t wanna give us copy or receipt or anything. Called this morning to talk to manger. Manger was super nice apologetic and gave us refund
