Clarion Inn & Suites - University Area - Hotel in Cortland - 2 1, 2 Locust Ave, USA

I'd call this place a dump, but that would be insulting to dumps. Rooms stink of mildew and are dirty. Mold all over the bathroom ceiling and the toilet was definitely not cleaned. We took a short look around and got the hell out of there. On the plus side, the employees were nice and gave a refund with no issues.

We first got there it smelled so bad like cigarettes and mildew. Then we get our key and walk to room and the carpets are all stained and full of food and crumbs and bugs. Then we get to our room open door and the smell was horrendous. We turn the light switch on and there was NO LIGHT EVEN HOOKED UP TO IT!!! we had to walk over to lamps to turn them on. Then we close the door to lock it and the door doesn’t lock. We turns the lock knob and a bolt fell out of the lock. It was a nasty place. Barely has breakfast it was only eggs and sausage. I do not recommend. Oh your view out the window will be some old run down business with piles of dirt. enjoy! because we didn’t.

Hotel very run down! Very strong smell of must/ mold. Front desk gave no problems asking for a refund, had to go to hotel.

Positive: The Clarion had.a.cozy fireplace in the breakfast area. Rooms were modern and well kept, clean. Staff very friendly. Negative: If they had updated foam mattress my older body would have appreciated that Negative: ""

This hotel could use an update. But Lenore at the front desk was wonderful. She couldn’t do enough to make our stay pleasant. Breakfast was meager and the coffee and hot water were lukewarm. The room was clean and comfortable.

Our hotel room was exactly what we expected. It wasn't top tier by any means and could definitely use some updates, but the room was comfortable and clean, even though there was a stain on the rug beside my bed...looked like someone had spilled a beverage. The front desk staff was very friendly and breakfast was suitable with nice options.
