The room was fairly up to date, clean, and quiet. Several outlets near the bed had USB charge ports. HVAC was not too loud. Bed was comfy. I was in town for a conference at Asilomar and location was good - very close for driving and close enough to walk there. Price was good compared to other places in the area. I'll definitely plan to stay here again.

Monterey stay with Grandson:|No, 3 out of 5. The furniture needs updating. The T.V. Is so old you can barely see it. It’s a 35 inch if that. Beds need replacing. Outside our door were old cushions or pillows stacked in front of the door.|Chairs were lined up on the walkway. Our room was at the end. |I went for coffee the first morning. I take 3 creams. It was half&half . I poured them in to two cups. Curdled. Trash was overflowing so I put the coffees on the high check-in counter. I pulled the box of creamers out of the cabinet. It was dated 9-2023. It was July 13, 2024. No attention to detail here. Sloppy areas with old furniture. The bathroom was redone and it was nice. Stayed here for one night. This is a good place to stay. The staff was good and breakfast was decent. The room was clean and has a mini fridge, TV, and microwave. I will say the bed was super firm so just a heads up. By no means will this be the hotel you can say was a plush stay of your life but for the price, and location it's hard to complain.

Room was clean , bathroom was clean, bed was soft but comfy, older hotel so you can hear guests upstairs, I wear ear buds to cancel noise anyway so didn’t bother me . Breakfast was the typical waffles fruit cereal etc.. over all fir the price it was a good value .

While the rooms (apart from the rickety toilet) and location were really nice, our stay was unfortunately overshadowed by the worst service we experienced on our whole trip through California. For context, I was traveling with my girlfriend and my parents. The woman at the check in was already not very friendly when we arrived and barely welcomed us. At the next morning, the phone rang in our room. It was the hotel clerk, telling us to please come down to help communicate with my parents. They were sitting in checkin area which doubles as a breakfast room. The food variety was limited to the bare minimum with basically a waffle maker, coffee, and two varieties of juice and cereal. No eggs, bacon, sausages, etc. were to be found. The small area is also missing tables and seating apart from two more decorative chairs. The issue the clerk apparently had was that my parents used the door connecting the checkin room with the adjacent patio. The clerk who identified herself as Veronica was complaining rudely and even loudly to my parents not to use that door and to rather go use the main entrance and walk around to the patio so that it doesn’t get cold inside. This was absolutely unacceptable. Since it was only around 50 degrees outside, sitting at a table in the patio was not really an option. The clerk, again in an unfriendly manner, told us to take our breakfast to our rooms, then. Bear in mind this was one of the most expensive stays on our vacation and we never had any complaints with anyone before, even at much cheaper places. We did, but two of us had to sit on the floor because there is only a sofa seating two people in the room and we wanted to have breakfast together. Veronica, please work on your attitude or get into another line of work.

Very disappointed. The day of my stay was pouring rain and as we all know, floors will get wet. Two small hand towels were placed on the floor to soak up the water residue. The next morning at check out, I was advised of a $50 fee for 2 hand towels that had dirt on them. (Dirt picked up from their dirty floors). I was confused and asked to see the towels. The towels were definitely not stained and just needed a washing. I kindly tried to explain that the dirt was picked up from their floors which clearly has not been properly cleaned. The front desk lady proceeded to explain that all towels must remain white, otherwise there is a $50 fee. She began to get hostile and included the cleaning staff in the conversation to instigated conflict. She told the cleaning ladies that I was complaining that they did not know how to clean. The conversation quickly became uncomfortable and I asked to speak to the manager. She refused to contact him by phone but had just stated that she called him and text him pictures of the towels and that he told her to charge me $50 for 2 small hand towels. Before leaving she said that she would not be charging me the $50 fee and that she would provide me with the mangers email address to resolve the matter. She never contacted me by phone or email as promised but instead charged my credit card for two different amounts, totaling $50. This place is unprofessional and dishonest. Stay at the Andril fireplace cottages, Pacific Gardens Inn, or Rosedale Inn for better service!

They were very accommodating. We were able to book a room late in the evening and the rates were very reasonable. The free breakfast was great, waffles, pastries, cereal, yogurts and juice. The lady at the front desk was very helpful, the rooms were clean, with a refrigerator and microwave for leftovers from cannery row. The property was clean and within a 5 minutes of asilomar beach. We will definitely be coming here again, if not for the cheap rates, definitely for the hospitality! Thank you wilkies inn!

I am very disappointed with this place, the room was not cleaned well, the sheets were dirty, towels had stains on them, and roaches were walking around in the room. when I told the lady in the office, she kept saying okay and nothing to respond.
