We were in town hunting and stopped to get coffee quickly on our way out. Both mornings right at opening time, City Market staff are lined up getting coffee. On the second morning as they were standing socializing and not ordering, I asked if I could order as I was in a hurry. They all looked at me and one of the employees proceeded to order. After she ordered she said, we only have a 15 minute break. I would suggest maybe allowing guests to go first vs. employees. It sure looks bad on City Market staff. And she was super rude! I would also perhaps suggest looking at break times to not be right when the coffee shop opens. Customer services super sucks here! I would avoid this stop if you can.
They never have produce, it’s the only grocery store I’ve ever been to where the produce section is almost entirely empty most of the time. Their meat is terrible. They recently had a water leak come through the ceiling in the produce section, the hole stayed there for at least month. Worst City Market in the country?
Newest self serve long check outs are horrible. Won't work if you put your bags on conveyor belt. How inefficient. Took the supervisor minutes to clear machine. There were boxes of produce sitting on the floor. Produce section was abysmal. Out of stock on many items. Come on City Market- you can do better.
They just don't have enough employees to keep the shelves stocked or the deli or butcher open daily. Most of the employees there are wonderful, espcially the management. If they are out of something, just ask and most of the time they will go in the back and get it for you. Its just frustrating to shop there when the shelves are empty but its not for lack of trying to hire folks. The parking lot is always almost full but there is parking. The self check out is annoying due to the "skip bagging" options but there are 2 new registers with belts.
Great gluten-free selection! They have soft breads, pita, pizza crust, cakes, cookies, and chips; all gluten-free. Their other products are well stock as well.
Terrible signage for deals. Either they are out of date, placed next to similar but "different" products, or you have to but 10 nearly expired items for the discount. For shame on the owner and managers. For shame on this company. For shame for Gunnison to be only host 2 grocery stores of the SAME company to create a false sense of competition.
As the gunnison valley has some higher fuel prices (largely because they can). I called to ask the price for regular unleaded (for trip planning on where I should refill). The man at the fuel center said “I am not going to discuss that with you, bye” and hung up on me! That answered my question on where I am not filling up.
Stoped to pick up supplies for mountain hiking on the morning of 8/4/21. The guy checking me out was talking to me about where we were from and doing. I told him about our hiking trip and goal of hiking a 14er. He led us to a product we had no clue about being from NC to help us adjust to the altitude. This kind of service was unexpected and appreciated.
Our 2nd time getting food from there. We took a drive from Grand Junction to Gunnison for New Years Eve day. A gorgeous balmy winter day. It was also our 12th wedding anniversary. Their food is worth the 2.25 hour drive. Texted my order in the morni
Great place to visit and learn about the pioneer life. We brought 65 scouts out west and this was one of the stops. More than enough to keep them engaged. Well worth the stop if you are driving nearby.
We took our young children and had a great time. The staff was so nice and helpful. The pool is heated, great place for little and big kids. The gymnastics gym is open play and the basketball court. They have family changing rooms too!
Nice big RV spots that have a good amount of space between them. Easy access to the reservoir. There is some highway noise if you're close to the road, but the spots farther away are quiet. There is no shade so I would recommend a plug-in spot for RV
This family run hole in the wall had some wonderful margaritas, cold beer, but most importantly great tasting home made food. I can highly recommend this location. Come early as the place fills up quickly after 1800. As per usual, I did not ta
We loved our stay at Rodeway Inn!! We extended our planned length of stay and ended up spending 4 nights at the Inn. The beds were extremely comfortable as was the room itself. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and the rate was excellent. W
Make a reservation!!! This place is ahhhmazing! A must try in the area. You can always get there early or even just go out to the river front bar area for awesome views, live music, drinks, and a small menu. Garlic Mike was grillin some oysters when
Our room was clean and very comfortable. The bed was perfect, there was little to no external noise, and we loved the location. The front desk (man and two women) were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was pretty good, except for the eggs,
