Beautiful views all around. You will pass through the Chugach Forest if you're driving down south to Seward. Watch out for Moose 🫎 crossing the roads. Maintain your distance if you stop for photos as moose are known to charge if you're too close. Especially for cow moose with cute calves.
Seagulls were insane but with the amazing view you can forget about it.😬😬😬 Five stars for the scenery and kayaking experience. Highly recommended! 推推👍🏻
Snow storm was awesome! I hope anyone who had car troubles, or was tossed to the ditch by the tall snow in
We camped at a small turn out on Loose Rocks ponds that was very popular. A great place to boondock. We hiked to Byron glacier which is an easy 2 miles round trip, and Portage glacier which was much more difficult especially the first 3/4 of a mile ,but worth it.
Beautiful place with awesome views depending on where you are.
We went through the Chugach National Forest for the Portage Glacier Cruise and a visit to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. Our first stop was at the Anchorage Overlook where you can seethe whole city of Anchorage below the tall mountains. Along the highway you can see bear and moose as well as different seabirds. If you look high up in the mountains you can sometimes see Dali Sheep. Did not have time for any hiking on this trip but there are many hiking trails in the area. Would love to come back and do some more exploring.
Horsetail Falls trail is fairly unmarked but super amazing! It's okay for kids under 5, carrying under 3 recommended. Super well kept boardwalk and less than a mile to the platform at the end. Our family loved it and will make it a yearly trip!
We make two stops off the Alaskan Railroad, one on Whittier to camp and the next night at the Spencer Creek Glacier trails. It was wonderful weather in August, we hiked about 10 miles each day with plenty to view, we hiked to the Spencer Cabin to have lunch and it had wonderful views, we met a group that helicoptered in to the top of the mountain and hiked down, and met many other great individuals. There were many rafters and and kayakers that looks to be having a great time!
Beautiful lodge on the water. Room #4 was quite, cozy and comfortable. The deck facing the ocean is perfect for relaxing with a glass and watching the boats and mountain view. Nicely appointed kitchen, great breakfast and close to Seward for restaura
During my recent visit to this breakfast spot in Seward, Alaska, I was absolutely blown away by the stunning views and unique atmosphere of that place. The coffee was simply amazing and the cute souvenir shop was a nice touch. However, I was a bit di
Best decision of the trip. This experience was amazing and the gold star tickets are well worth the cost. I'll be honest I spent 70% of the train ride on the balcony. The photos are just 20 of over 150 taken on the train ride.
Absolutely incredible food. Delicious, came out hot and quickly. So happy we found this place for a cold winter day! We got the chicken mash, mac n cheese and quesadilla special. 100/10. Highly recommend!!
Absolutely wonderful hike! Got about 850-950 ft up the mountain and took the pics posted. Could see all the way to south end bay. Good hiking shoes needed if wet as there are some elevation changes and some water crossings. None are difficult yet th
Stopped at the Mudd Hutt for breakfast before driving back to Anchorage. The service was prompt and friendly- and the breakfast sandwiches were great! They also treated us to some home made donuts they were trying for their menu- bonus! A great place
My 7 year Olds favorite playground out of three visited. Lots to play with and challenge movement and imagination. Also has a skate park for the older kids and a great walking path for adults.
