Chisholm's Motor Inn - Motel in Saugus - 1314 Broadway, USA

Missed our flight late at night. Needed a room. Their mattresses are covered so lower chance of bed bugs. Didn't see signs of bed bugs. Good rates. Extremely clean rooms. You could tell the bathroom was just cleaned. Good wifi. Folks at front desk were friendly. The sign out front states jacuzzi & hot tub but didn't use it. 6 miles from Logan airport.

Having read previous reviews. I had mixed feels staying here, however, it was the only place in the Boston area that was not over $1k a night or sold out. This appears to be a family run inn where the owners live onsite. They don't want any trouble coming in. They have a very strict guest policy. I was in town for a work trip so it didn't bother me, The staff was friendly and polite. The room was decent and clean. The liens and towels were at the end of their life cycle but they were clean. If you are just passing through and need a quiet place to sleep it's a decent and reasonably priced place. If you're looking to party and come in drunk being all loud at 2-3am this isn't the place for you.

The people that owes this place is straight up rude got real nasty with me and my husband told us to stop showing affection outside because he had no shirt on and he is Spanish I understand about it being a family owned and what not but me and my husband wasn’t doing anything outside like we was respectful and being kind to others but hugging each other and kissing waiting for someone to come help us out because I locked my keys in the car and we wanted to go get food. We don’t want to ever come back here again. The way we got approached was unacceptable and rudely.

Came into town at 3:15am on Thursday morning inquiring into room rates for a check in at that time and checkout the following day ( a Friday) Front desk clerk told even though it was 3:15am he would be charging me 2 nights. Asked if we could do one night with an early check in around 8 or 9 instead, he would not work with me, telling me that we’d have to pay an early check in fee and wouldn’t be able to get in the room until 1Pm. Not a great way to represent your town to a new visitor.

Not only did Peter (sp?) get us a room very last minute, he was more than accommodating and extremely patient with my drunk band mates. This is a family owned and operated motel that I recommend over any big name place. Plus they had coffee that actually tasted like coffee. And the rooms were very clean. THANK YOU.

Would give this place negative stars if I could. First the check in guy was incredibly rude. They charged my card twice and even after I showed them the first charge they wouldn’t give me my key until they charged me a second time and said they’d refund me the next day. The room came with nothing not even a bottle of shampoo or toothpaste. It was extremely loud all hours of the night and they staff seemed to not care at all.

I've stayed here a few times. This is a comfortable and safe motel with a great location, it's right on Rt1 but you can also get there from Essex St, Saugus. For people not from the area, Rt1 is a busy highway with tons of restaurants, plazas with stores to go shopping and the Square 1 Mall. I like that every room has its own entrance. I smoke cigarettes so it's extremely convenient to just walk outside and not have to walk down a long hallway and take an elevator just to get outside. It's very quiet all the time and you don't hear the highway at all. Every room has windows that actually open which is really nice, I love having fresh air and a nice breeze at night. The rooms are decent, they are a little outdated but they are very clean. The beds are comfortable. They also have rooms with a large jacuzzi tub, those rooms cost a little more money. Don't forget that this is a Motel....not a Hotel....there's a flat screen TV, a mini refrigerator, clean white towels, bars of soap and a hair dryer in the room, if you need shampoo/conditioner, toothbrush or body lotion...you need to bring that stuff with you, as far as I know they don't have any toiletries at the front desk but they might. I always bring my own shower gel and body lotion with me no matter where I stay. There's an ice machine and a soda vending machine located outside across from the main office/front desk. There are no snack vending machines....so, if you want snacks or food you need to bring that with you or have it delivered, there's a gas station within walking distance to get basic snacks/drinks. I really like staying here and definitely recommend it!

Plane delays got us to Boston late and exhausted. Airport and city hotels were charging $800+. Trip Advisor led us to Chisholm’s and they deserve a recent review. Front desk was courteous, room was recently redone and very clean. Bed was comfy and room was quiet despite nearby highway. Coffee in lobby, but lots of nearby options. Well-kept grounds and a good relative value at under $150. Yes, the towels are tiny and a bit rough- but my husband loves that. Bring your own shampoo! We would definitely stay again.
