China Buffet - Chinese restaurant in Shawnee - 1710 N Harrison St, USA

With all the bad reviews, I was pleasantly surprised. The food was average; some better than average. My server was so kind and attentive. It isn't what I would call a super decorative/interior designed set up, but it was clean and quiet.

Most of the food was very good. A few items were cold, and the stuffed mushrooms had a rancid taste. Service wasn't outstanding, but acceptable. Lo mein was delicious, and part of every plate i got. Will be back for sure.

The food was the grossest food I’ve EVER had. The honey chicken was rock hard, the place smelled like wet dog, the rice was mushy, and even the water tasted bad! I didn’t try much of the food, but what I did try was absolutely disgusting and outrageous. As dessert I tried a rice crispy but it was made with a captain crunch berries. It was sickening. They didn’t even stir the rice crispies right. There was chunks of marshmallow everywhere, and they even put raisins in it! I wanted to get a gum ball after to maybe make my mouth not taste as nasty but the gum was so ancient that it ended up dissolving and turning into a powder in my mouth. I had to spit it out on my way to the car! Trust me, you will be better off going to Arby’s or subway.

If you are looking for a variety of nasty food this is just the place. What wasn't burned was tepid or cold. I have eaten here before and was not completely disappointed, but it was just awful this time. I left without having completed my meal after biting into a piece of chicken that appeared to have died from gangrene. On the up side, the wait staff was doing a good job. Worst dining experience in years.

Absolutely rude service. We were the first ones to be served so everything was or should have been completely fresh literally felt nauseated before I left and was kind of sick for a couple of days afterwards belly was not okay. Absolutely do not recommend! No

Good selection of food, most everything was cold or mildly warm, not sure about how safe it was. Butter shrimp was pretty good but again cold. Was 5:30-6:00pm. So no excuse for cold food

Nothing tastes fresh. The food tastes like it sits in the warmers all day and never gets rotated or switched out. Meat is dry. Everything is luke warm. Surprised nobody got food poisoning since it wasn't hot. I doubt anything is made in-house. The atmosphere feels cluttered and dirty. I would try China House or Maple Garden for take-out and Phoenix downtown if you want to dine-in.
