I think Chili’s is underrated. I’m happy to see that this chain restaurant survived the pandemic and is thriving. It’s always busy when we drive by. Great for sport fans, after work professionals and even family budget friendly.
Decided to come for happy hour. There’s plenty of parking in this plaza which is a plus.
They have a few cool specials:
-When football is on, happy hour is honored.
-$10 lunch specials where you pick 3 items
-margaritas of the month are only $6
-bottomless chips and salsa
-Happy hour wings daily with Sat and Sun all day
We got:
-bottomless chips and salsa: It’s for a fee but the chips are so thin, light and crispy! Chips are addicting but the salsa tastes like Pace.
-8 piece wings: We got Buffalo flavor. I thought they were large and lightly breaded with great flavor. My fiancé had Hooter’s the day before and he disagrees with me.
-Triple dipper: We picked southwestern egg rolls which is always a must, big mouth bites which are sliders, and Nashville hot chicken crispers which are tenders.
Also got the Spice-a-Rita. Everything came out to $40. Not bad for two people with left overs.
3.5 rounding to 4. We will be back for the chili and other items during happy hour.
Received a gift card so we went to Chilis. Haven't been to a Chili's since a horrible experience at the Grossmont location.
We didn't get plates with our food. Well, we received one plate. We asked for more plates from the food-dropper-offer and only got one.
We asked our server for another plate, along with refills. We got the refills.
No plate. And we got 2/3 of the refills. Server ghosted us for five minutes. I had to walk up to the bar and ask for a plate and a refill for my son.
We ordered the chips and salsa and white queso dip. Half the chips were nickel/quarter sized (pictured). Are we suppose to eat them with a spoon? What are we doing, Mr. Chili?
The white queso dip wasn't very good, but that may be a preference thing.
At the next booth was an uncleared table and a big bag of Raisin' Canes (pictured) for some reason. It stayed there the whole time. Other tables nearby also were uncleared and just sitting there, like we were eating in at a Chilis that was suddenly evacuated. Hence the 1 star for 'atmosphere'.
Tyler our server was nice enough, I'd rather he was a little more attentive and realized people need plates to consume food. It wasn't even busy, which I guess was why they weren't clearing tables.
I think today was the last time I will ever eat at a Chili's. It's like the McDonalds of sit down dining. Like if BJs had an outlet location.
I get it if you're in Scranton or somewhere then Chili's might be it, but this is Daygo, pimpin', we have better options for a similar price.
My son also wants to add that their crayons are cheap as hell.
I ordered steak with double broccoli (cooked well) and a side salad.
Broccoli was dry, really with no moisture. I asked for a manager who apologized and side he's had to send broccoli back another time.
When heating up my leftovers, I noticed MOLD on my broccoli and it was old...😱
I called the restaurant and reported it to the manager, Alan who helped me earlier when I was there Alan thanked me for bringing the matter to his attention and for emailing pictures to him.
What a mess of a restaurant. They messed up my delivery order, and when I called in to inform them about the error, the person I spoke to offer to remake my order for free. I called back two nights later to re-order and the manager acted so clueless, and tried to make me feel like it was my fault the cooks made the order with the wrong protein.
After a wonderful night out in beautiful San Diego, my wife and I decided to eat a late dinner after our event. Upon walking into Chili's, I expected it to be dirty and just kind of run-down like some of the other ones I have seen around San Diego. Well, let me tell you, I was wrong. This establishment was super clean, and my wife and I got seated right away, although it was a tad late. I went right to the bar, and our server, Lauren, was very nice and helped us right away. She was cheery, which is, to be honest, a nice way to greet a customer. After we got our drinks, we got the skillet queso, which is my personal favorite. After we got our meal, nothing exciting happened, but the service was perfect. It was better than what we expected out of Chili's; we had great conversations with everyone at the bar section, and like I said, Lauren did an excellent job. Laughing with us, suggesting things to us, and just being a great person. It was the perfect way to end the night. The hospitality from all the staff on Wednesday, May 31st, was amazing! Overall, is this just another great review from me? Sure, but I’ll tell you that the experience at this Chili's is different. It ran differently, and for all the right reasons.
I guess experience in chilis varies. I used to go to chilis often back in high school and just have good experience.
I would say this place is definitely understaffed. Ive been here twice at night and those two times, its def understaffed. Takes forever for my food to arrive and even waiter to take our order.
I gave 3 stars because we waited wayy too long for the food and a waiter to even take our order... But I could see that waiters were so busy and they were trying their best to get to us and they were friendly which made me feel so bad..! I could see that there are not enough workers there..? Anyways the front lady who was seating us seemed veryy unfriendly. Didnt even say a word when we greeted.. We were like what.. lol did we do something wrong.
Anyways food was good. Tasted like what you expect to eat at chilis.
Went to lunch here with my buddy and Laura B. was our server. After picking up the broken pieces of my heart when Laura said they were out of Mango iced tea. Everything else was amazing. Laura was fast and fun to talk with. Our food was amazing and the atmosphere was great.
It was a pretty cool experience for me. The food items that I ordered were in stock and available, and the food was the "BOMBDIGGITY "! That means the food was pretty good. Excellent food, and the prices are really reasonable for what you get! I was a bit worried based on the BBQ prices the first time I went, but it's an *insane* amount of food: you definitely want to share any of the BBQ plates across 2 people (and eve
Wonderful family restaurant. Dined for breakfast with my mother. Service could have been better - they seemed short staffed and there appeared to be a large group function going on in the banquet room. Our meals were superb, better than home cooked!
The tap list of local craft beer is second to none. The sausages and lumpia are delicious. This is one of our favorite spots to meet up with friends and relax on a sunny day.
Great service despite it being busy for a Monday night football game. The outdoor patio with heaters was a nice surprise. Huge portions. Not pictured the delicious Cali Creamin draft.
Food usually great, I had the Monte Cristo sandwich and it wasn't good. Was very oily and only one slice of ham in very thick brioche bread. The mushroom pizza my friend had was very good.
We found this restaurant while walking through the gas lamp district. We saw a line of people out the door so we looked to see if we could make a reservation. Unfortunately they do not take reservations.
