I've been visiting the Chief John Ross house since I was a child. Now 50 years later, it looks better than ever. Thanks to the current City Government lead by Mayor Teddy Harris they held their first ever Fishing Rodeo at the pond that sits in front of this historic house. If you're ever in Chattanooga or the Rossville area this is a must see
We did a scavenger hunt from Let:s Roam. It gave us some great historical information about the Chief John Ross and other figures in the area.
The city has really cleaned up the area a good bit and continues to make improvements. Except on very special occasions, you can't get too close to the house. Still, it's a nice little place to take a minute.
Nice place, especially with the duck ponds. Just wish the house had been open.
I go here quite often because it's so peaceful and beautiful. I like to feed the ducks, turtles and fish there also. It's a little less traffic if you have small kids I would definitely take them there to feed the animals.
It's really nice now that they took the big barbed wire fence down and put up a nice wrought iron fence around the house and lower pond. Stacked wood railing fence around the upper pond 👍🎼🎶🤠🇺🇲
It use to be better before they had to fence it off. I remember walking through it when I was young and being amazed by all the history and then later on taking my kids.
