Chevys - Mexican restaurant in O'Fallon - 1305 Central St, USA

Okay so normally I don't really like to leave horrible reviews on a restaurant but I am FUMING right now! This has had to be easily one of the WORST experiences I've had at a restaurant...ever! I ordered the Beef Birria tacos and a flight of margaritas! It is still happy hour as I write this review and I could've sworn the flight of margaritas was 10 dollars but I got charged 13 dollars for them! I decided not to demand the happy hour menu because those flight of margaritas actually did their job and I didn't want to cause a scene. When I received the tacos, I requested them hard and got soft shell tacos that looked like they were put to a flame. If this is how they normally make it, then this is barely excusable. The first taco was okay, the second was a bit better, but the third one I couldn't even finish! I took one bite into overcooked BEEF! It took me two minutes before I could finally say something and the first thing I could do was realize that I wasted my money on this food! The rice was overcooked and hard and the beans were nearly inedible. I did a rare thing I've done ever and I simply stopped eating! I'm sorry but if this is the standard that is expected at this establishment, then I cannot see myself making future visits! I came again because the first time, I had an amazing experience and it's like night and day now! I am heartbroken to believe that someone out here in this world believes that someone truly thought in their hearts: Let's send them trash food. Good day!

Second time we've come for brunch and both times food has been really good. The staff was very nice and attentive both times, got our orders right and checked on us frequently. If you're looking for a brunch with a unique assortment of food and drinks and family friendly, give them a try. They were not very busy either time we came so we were seated right away (even with a party of 10 the first time).

Came in for dinner with my fiancé and had a great meal. Came out fresh, hot, delicious, and suprisingly quick even though they were shortstaffed. The chef, Toni came out and took our order AND delivered the drinks, chips, and food. Toni was very sweet and friendly, will definitely come back and hopefully have her as our chef/server again.

Went for dinner, food was good our waitress/bartender, Hannah, was awesome. she knew the menu and was willing to give recommendations when we asked. Will definitely go back and sit in bar area if she is working.

I had the best time there Friday night with my husband and family My server was miss. D. She was a very kind respectful woman I've ever had waited on me. She's, was a fine person

Nothing special. The tortillas were freshly made in front of you. Fancy. I had a hamburger and the fries were great. The Mexican food was very good. I tried some of the other's meals. I would go back again.

Don't eat here if you want authentic Mexican food. Servicer was great they kept my drinks full. Manager was dirty covered with food and had an attitude cause we didn't like the Mexican pizza. Brought us out 2 tacos and charged us 17.00 for them. They tried to swindle us. We told the waitress about it and they knew they were wrong. We will not be back. We found a place that has authentic Mexican food LOS Amigos is better.

A group of us visited on the 9th of January 24 and this was my first visit here, and I have to admit I was a bit reserved with reading several of the reviews. Well, I can speak for myself and the rest of the group, everything was top shelf, the food, the service and the ambiance. The portion sizes were huge and I had to have a take home box (that's a first for me). Kaylynn our server was great and made our visit very enjoyable. We will visit again.
