Absolutely lovely trails that feel like you’re far away from the city. Only one of 2 places in Virginia for the Camellia Trail Gardens, I can’t wait to see them in bloom this spring.
This is a really nice trail. I'm not sure what the definition of an Arboretum is, but I will say this is NOT jam packed with a lot of flowers (at least as of August 2023). Even without a lot of color, it's a very nice trail to walk with a lot of little bridges, natural canopies, mushrooms on the ground, creepy looking trees, and some bits of water, a couple of tiny benches, and a wooden viewing platform. It's not too long but if you're not accustomed to trails you can get a little lost because things start looking the same but there are maps at some of the bridges which are lettered to differentiate them so you can get back on track. I did NOT get to look at the side where the parking lot is with the gazebo and some flowers so there's a bit more to see there. PARK HACK!! I was pleasantly surprised to learn that if you exit at Entrance 3, you get a whole other little bonus park to explore!! Oak Brooke Park has a fairly short straight trail that leads to a more typical recreational park. So it's like you get 2 parks for the price of 1!
Been in Chesapeake a long while now and never been here til recently. Decided to go mushroom hunting. Beautiful trails. Beautiful area.
Beautiful trails to walk, and it's really peaceful and quiet. There are a few benches scattered throughout to sit and enjoy the surroundings. Lots of wildlife can be seen, depending on the time of year. In our first two visits we encountered a raccoon and a water moccasin (so be cautious).
Very nice and well maintained. The trails are wide and very accommodating for multiple people to pass. You have a feeling of wandering the woods until you see the whole neighborhood. Lovely picnic tables and it would have been nice to have some in the covered gazebo area. Good place for kids but take bug spray
Great short trail with several options to switch it up and do different loops or change direction. Whether you want to walk 1 mile or several, this is a nice hidden gem. The website has a PDF map, which I found helpful. I imagine this is very pretty in the spring when the flowers are blooming. I'm looking forward to seeing that.
Yesterday was my first time going Hiking. I must say I loved it. It was nice to me. As you are walking around you see plants and trees with their names on them, which I thought that was cool because you can learn something about them. When my friend and I started It seems we were going in circles but then we look at the map and took different paths it was actually longer than what we thought. We definitely enjoyed it!
Surprised more people haven't heard of these trails. A beautiful little cutaway from the city, the park includes several parks which weave through the local forested area. The parking and main buildings are across the street from the trails. Similar to the trails at First Landing, they are marked and we'll trodden. Many little gardens and wooden bridges cross the trails. It is an absolutely beautiful forested escape. There are, of course, a plethora of mosquitoes. Plan accordingly, as they are hungry and relentless. We plan on returning, but in the cooler season. The trails are not as long as First Landing and often times you can see people's backyards behind fences. So if you want to really detach, Dismal Swamp may be a better path, just beware Horseflies.

We visited early morning and hiked the trails. We saw turtles, snakes and squirrels on the trail along with costal birds. My favorite was watching the lift bridge raise and all the informational markers on the paths. The museum was closed. We will vi
Solid park to get out and stretch the legs or have a picnic. Has a nice walking trail, multiple playgrounds (one is getting an overhaul it looks like), ball fields and bathrooms throughout. Appears dog friendly with tons of room for one to run around

The newly remodeled Court House is looking fantastic. Shannon made me a refreshing Tito's and Lemonade and I had the Chicken Salad Club sandwich which was the best I've ever had. The Broccoli salad was a surprise delight that came with the sandwich.
Food was great! We ordered two appetizers, the steamed wonton with chili oil and steamed vegetable dumplings. The wontons were super good and could easily be shared with three people. The dumplings could have use salt internally, but paired with the
