Cherry Valley Hotel, BW Premier Collection - Hotel in Newark - 2299 Cherry Valley Rd SE, USA

I drove 8 hours to Ohio from NJ to pick up a puppy and had no energy to make the drive back by the time I made it there. I stayed at Cherry Valley for the night and had an awesome experience. The entrance and exterior is so welcoming and the front desk staff was so nice/helpful. The dog-friendly room was great because it had easy patio access to a grassy area. I was actually super impressed with the room as a whole and I LOVED the huge bathtub. I work at a popular casino/hotel in Atlantic City and this room was far cleaner and more modern in style than what I see on a daily basis. I honestly walked in and said wow out loud. Thank you for making my solo journey with a dog less stressful! So glad I found this hotel!

Hot tub was closed (has been for a long time according to reviews), pool was absolutely freezing, ice machine out of ice and nothing particularly special. The low cost, makes it a generally fair deal, but simple renovations could add a lot. Good for a quick stay, would not recommend for any form of a getaway.

The good: I booked the Cherry Valley Hotel specifically for the Christmas ambiance and it did not disappoint. When you walk through the front doors it was like walking into a Hallmark movie. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming. Everyone was so nice and warm. The room was spacious with a nice sized bathroom. Beds were comfy as well. We had an issue with our first room and the did not hesitate to move us to another rooms. We had Christmas Eve dinner in the restaurant and the food was incredible. Our server Jada was amazing, knowledgeable and accommodating. I have just a couple minor complaints. I wish they offered complimentary breakfast. I of course knew they did not when i booked but this normally is something we prefer. My other small issue is there were not enough plugs in the room. In other hotels the lights have at least USB plugs in them.

Positive: The location is very convenient to Granville. The staff are always helpful and friendly. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are very clean, in general. The rooms are also spacious and often include a sofa; great if you have kids. Negative: The hotel charges your card an extra $100 for amenities, in case you use them. In my experience, the hotel always reverses the charge, but I would prefer it if this was not the policy.

4 of us were there for dinner. BOGO for $24.00 prime rib. It was a promotion for opening Sunday special. Here's what happened: 1. No one could locate a confirmed reservation. 2. We were eventually seated and ordered drinks while waitress set table. 2 drinks eventually arrived and we waited almost 20 minutes for other 2. 3. We ordered appetizers and informed waiter we would like to hold off on dinner for a bit. 4. He returned almost immediately with salads dressing incorrect on 2. 5. Appetizers arrived about 10 minutes later, 2 drinks still missing. 6. Very shortly, after entrees arrived while we were eating appetizers. Again, items missing. 7. We informed manager who offered us more water. 8. We ordered 2 more drinks. Meal was finished when one arrived, second was several minutes later. 8. Checks arrived. 2 dinners for $24.00 equals $48.00. The ad said BOGO, but only $19.00 was deducted for second meal. We pointed this out and had to send checks back THREE times. They were both still wrong, but we were tired. We had intended to order a couple bottles of wine and possibly dessert, but service was so incredibly bad, we just wanted out!!! Staff completely ruined the entire dining experience. If you go, check your bill carefully or better yet, stay away.

The hotel is beautiful, as are the lush gardens and water features. Our room was very clean and the beds were so comfortable!! Loved the beds! Our kids swam in the heated indoor pool and in the evening we sat by the gas fire pit and had complementary s’mores. Our room had a garden view with a lovely patio that we could walk out of onto the cherry tree lined paths that led to the restaurant (amazing!) large gas fire pit, gazebo on the pond and the indoor pool. We highly recommend and will stay here again!

Really nice place! Room was as shown- nicely updated. Comfy bed. Courtyard was very pleasant. Food was excellent. Only complaint was that the bed frame corners are easy to bang your shin on but solved with putting the accent pillows up against the corner. Common area had a huge wood fireplace and a gas fireplace- nicely appointed. Do ask for a room that does not face the highway if you care about that. Went to Three Tigers Brewery for dinner (yum). Dawes Arboretum was fantastic.

The rooms are very nice. They are clean and everything was in working order. You are given a paper with "rules" when you check in. There's nothing crazy, but it says to not use their washcloths to wash makeup off your face, and makeup wipes are provided. However, makeup wipes were not provided. A minor inconvenience, sure. Made washing off the makeup a little more difficult. Also, there is no clock in the room. The banquet room for our party was beautiful. The food was delicious. It is a great place for events.
