I love this place. So peaceful clean and safe. Its 15 bucks to stay the night. Has electric for your equipment and the bathroom was so clean. No smells, well stocked, the lights are red inside so hard to see at night. No white light here allowed. Make sure to cover anything with white light. The close the gates as dark comes. So get there early.
Everything I thought it would be after all these years. Beautiful, well-maintained park. Met some good folk up there too.
Awesome place for star gazing. Only red lights are allowed in the star gazing area which makes for great gazing. Huge field with plenty of space. Take a blanket or sleeping bag along and stretch out for a few hours of entertainment. They also have a guide pointing out different constellations and answering questions. Huge telescopes you can look through.
Great place to camp out, see more stars, and the Milky Way. Restroom needs updating and cringe-worthy as it is a basic outhouse, no sink, although there is a water faucet outside. The whole restroom looks decent outside but very spartan inside. There is a better, modern restroom in the astronomy field. It has lights, sink, proper toilets, but no shower. Overall, this is a nice campground, but they could make it better.
As long as you go on a clear night during a new moon it is pretty great. I would recommend getting a group and having a guide. They bring a telescope and have a very nice presentation. Great for family's with kids. I think you need 18 to get the group rate but they do smaller groups as well. It would be nice if they could block the light from cars, but I understand that's impossible anymore. I did grow up in the area so it's a little less impressive as I can go to other spots in the area for the same experience as far as the darkness is concerned. Hence why I recommend the tour. Also if you do go please don't be the loud people pointing their flashlights everywhere. There is a restroom on site and while it it basically just a porta potty it's kept clean.
This is where the magic happens! The picture shown is the astronomy field. On the other side of route 44 is the general public/former airfield. Yes, folks. A few prop planes used to sit in there. I have driven route 44 at least 2 3rds of my driving career. Someone had a vision. Today, we can enjoy the sky from the ground.
We have been coming to Cherry Springs for 10+ years. We love the dark sky views. We usually come for the Black Forest Star party and annual event every fall. The weekend is very well run.
Make sure you bring blankets, and chairs you can land to look up at the beautiful sky, so many beautiful constellations. This is a must-see for those people who love stargazing 👍😍

A great spot for food while up in Coudersport. Stopped here on the way to Cherry Springs. The prices were pretty good and there was a good variety. I loved the inside, it was like a log cabin!
Beautiful spot to camp under the stars. Friendly and helpful park staff. Clean bathrooms. Dogs allowed. Non reservable online pay at information board once you pull in. Check out time 3pm
Love the food!
I got the club sandwich and the deep fried pretzel bites, they were so yummy!
The sandwich is bigger than my FACE LOL!!!
The food is great but the atmosphere of the place is a little boring, the first thing I noticed when we walked in
This hotel is nice, in a good location and reasonably priced however what makes it for us a 5 star rating is the staff that work there!
We have been coming here for 6-7 years. I had written a review on trip advisor but recently realized a few weeks
We rolled in at about 2:45 am with no reservations and were given two rooms. Rooms are a little outdated but comfortable. I think we should be able to stay longer if guests check in after 2 am. Rates are very reasonable considering no reservations.
This is a new, very spacious store full of great items. Good selection of clothing in all sizes. I bought a brand new winter coat for $9, a large food processer for $5, and a like-new electric frying pan for only $6. I would have bought a lot more
