We stayed at Cherokee Lodge for a small wedding. All of us together! We had room 6 which was spacious and they accommodated us with a rollaway bed for our 10 year old daughter. Small, quaint, quiet! Lots of snacks in the common area and coffee. HB eggs for the continental breakfast. Close to the main drag and the beach. About a 12 minute walk. Can't wait to go back!

I stayed at the Cherokee Hotel in June. I was in California for a wedding in Temecula and as I had been to CA before, but never been to San Diego, I figured to make a weekend of the trip. |Prices for hotels in the San Diego area and in the city proper were very high, but the hotel seemed reasonable for a three night stay, and as I was renting a car, location wasn’t a factor.|The hotel is located on Coronado Island, connected to San Diego by a bridge and a ferry. Most of the island is taken up by North Island Naval Base. Actually, San Diego seems to be a city plopped in the middle of a Naval Base!|Now, let’s talk about the hotel. It’s old, built I believe in the 1920’s, and served as a rooming house catering to naval personnel. Being old, there are some issues with the room I had, which was described as a king room. The bed was great. Comfortable, with high quality linen. Wall mounted medium sized TV. Antique furniture in the room, sufficient for a few clothes but not for two people if one of them is a woman. There is also the lack of a table if you want to eat in your room, an issue as there is no dining table in the breakfast/snack room. The bathroom is small, I would say added after the hotel was built. It consists of a toilet, sink and shower. Only one person can use the bathroom at a time, unless you use it when someone is in the shower. The bath provides very good quality towels and bath items.|The hotel provides breakfast items such as Keurig coffee pods, bagels/pastries and fresh fruit and breakfast/snack bars. There was a pancake making machine available, but I didn’t try to use it. There is a small refrigerator with bottled water, butter, yogurt, cream cheese and hard boiled eggs. There is also a single toaster. These items are available to guests 24 hours a day.|There is a staff at the hotel, but they only stay from 8-5. After that, you let yourself in using a front door code given to guests. If you’re a smoker, you can smoke in the back of the hotel, under a lovely lemon tree. Parking can be an issue. I was never able to park closer than a block away. Luckily, you really don’t need to drive to get what you need.|Now, let’s talk location. The hotel is located just a block off Orange Avenue, the main drag of Coronado Island. Orange Ave is loaded with restaurants and shops, all within walking distance of the hotel. Coronado Beach is also within walking distance, along with the famous Hotel Del Coronado, a huge historic hotel/resort where they filmed “Some like It Hot”. The beach adjacent to the hotel has a very lively scene, along with more places to eat. Definitely worth the twenty minute walk. Coronado is a very walk able place, with interesting architecture on every block, so if you’re a neighborhood explorer, you’ll find it interesting.

Good overall experience. Pleasant hardworking staff. We had our Ebikes with us and were accommodated with a first floor unit. Nicely equipped room, plenty of space but it is an older property so there are some minor challenges. Calling this Property a Bed & Breakfast is probably a stretch but we did enjoy what was provided in the food area. The biggest challenge for guests would probably be the street parking. We found a spot for our car right in front of the Hotel but we were lucky.||We enjoyed our experience and would return.

This little Inn has SOO much old world charm. Very clean and inviting. The staff is wonderful, helpful, totally 6 star if I could give it, and the beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept on. we held our small wedding party on their back patio, and everybody fell in love with the place. Its hard to call it a bed and breakfast, so I humorously refer to it as a Bed and Finger Food lodge. Because they keep a 24 hour stock of various yummy finger foods in several refrigerators for your snacking pleasure. If you are staying on Coronado Island, this should be your go-to to stay at.

Great place to stay in Coronado. Only a block off of Orange Avenue with all the wonderful shops and restaurants within walking distance. Charming house and some breakfast items are provided along with a bottle of water. We would totally stay here again!

Cherokee Lodge exceeded our expectations! So quaint, clean and charming. The linens were wonderful and everything had a fresh scent including the shower curtain. Loved the hardwood floors in our room! Tiffany was wonderful at answering all of our questions and very kind! Highly recommend, if you want a simple, lovely, and quaint experience.

Cherokee Lodge was even better than we expected! I'm absolutely not typically a B&B kinda gal, but the reviews I had read on this place had piqued my interest so we took a chance. I'm SO GLAD we did! The house is adorable, the grounds are gorgeous, and the rooms are well-appointed and cozy. Everything was super clean, and we loved the self-serve breakfast and coffee nook, with fresh cookies put out each afternoon!||The wrap-around porch was our favorite place to sit and have coffee in the morning, among the lush lemon and orange trees, and abundant, well-tended flowers. The beach was a mere 5 minute walk away - we couldn't believe how close we were. The famous Hotel del Coronado was a 10 minute walk, maybe even less. And the Lodge is only one block from Orange Ave, where shopping, cafes, and restaurants are abundant. There's a supermarket one block away as well, where you can pick up snacks, a local beer, or a bottle of wine to bring back to your room for a night in, or to grab supplies for a picnic on the beach. ||My husband, toddler and I stayed in a king room upstairs, and my parents were in a separate king room upstairs as well. It felt "homey" and comfortable. The staff is extremely friendly and accomodating, and the other guests we encountered were friendly, quiet, and all respectful of each other. It was the perfect long weekend stay in Coronado, but we all wished that we were staying longer!

Excellent situation in Coronado, close to all the restaurants and the beaches. Seemed a very safe place to walk. On street parking just outside the lodge. Nice outside seating including a small courtyard at the rear of the property. Helpful staff. Rooms well equipped with coffee maker, fridge etc. The kitchen in the lobby has additional coffee makers and fruit, snacks to eat. Breakfast is a little strange as it is a self service style but the food is put out the night before so it is pot luck what is left when you go for yours. Reception closes around 4pm and latecomers have their keys pinned to a notice board. If looking for a place to either visit the island, or as we were SanDiego then this is recommended
