Nice looking restaurant and friendly staff. We got different items from the menu to give it a try and all of them were about 8/10. I would definitely get chicken and beef kabobs. Lamb kebob i didn't like it nor I liked the soup. It had a lot of saffron. Without saffron is good if you want to get it. I liked everything except I was very shocked to see they only have 1 small bathroom that wasn't even clean properly. For such a big place, a small bathroom was interesting.

I recommend Chelo tea house for any small event you are thinking of hosting. We visited there for our family reunion last weekend. Maryam, the owner greeted us with a warm smile and took us to our table right away. The table was set with beautiful fine china with a cozy ambiance and elegant decor. After we chose our tea from the abundant selection served on a plate. The server brought hot water for us to brew our teas in individual tea pots provided for each person. We were served smoked salmon spread and small finger sandwiches. Based on our choices we were served different delicious foods. The mango shot was an amazing finish . The service was excellent. We were very happy to find this place for our event and can’t wait to utilize for our next family reunion.

Solid 2. The food was average but not great and certainly overpriced. I wouldn’t be back for this food. Service disappointing. We had to wait a long time before someone acknowledged us/led us to a table. I find that unacceptable especially at these prices. There were 4-5 servers who saw us standing there and didn’t made any effort to help. Decor was very well done.

Chelokababi completely blew my mind and dazzled my taste buds. All of the Persian appetizers and entrees were beyond my expectations. The beef kebab plate was cooked to perfection: meat was delicate and full of flavor, salad was evenly dressed and was just enough on the plate. What surprised me the most however, was how immaculate the buttery saffron rice was cooked. Man o man what a treat! Next time I may even buy a side of it to take home with me. The hummus was great and was delivered immediately to start us off (thank god because I was starving!) The samosas were epic as well! Just perfectly bite sized with a delicious creamy topping that was just enough not to infringe on my appetite for the main course. Also I highly recommend the saffron tea that left us feeling cozy as a nice topper to the meal. The service was of high class and very professional. We constantly had a rotation of 2 servers checking-in on us and ensuring our satisfaction and refills. Last, the atmosphere felt very intimate and home-like as there were families and couples filling the tables. We were lucky enough to get a booth in the back which added a bit of romance and tempered the audio of the room. We got there around 6PM on a Sunday and already it was half full. By 6:30-7PM the place was packed with lines forming. Come early and be seated sooner than later! An absolutely must to return for an all around pleasant experience.

The food at this place is really delicious, and it's Persian cuisine. The atmosphere is wonderful as well. Plus, they have options for vegans like me, which is fantastic! My meat eating Persian friend said its the best Persian food in bay area

I went to Chelokababi with some friends yesterday and had a very positive experience. I called to ask if they had halal meat and was told everything is halal except for the filet mignon. The restaurant has a really nice ambiance on the inside and you definitely feel like you are eating in a fancy restaurant so I think it would be good for special occasions. We went with the party of six and I booked online, it was super simple. For 6 people we ordered the Mediterranean platter and then 4 kabob/ meat dishes served family style (pictured here) and everyone got plate of rice included as part of that. They also have complimentary bread that’s served with butter when you first sit down. For all 6 of us this was enough food and we struggled to eat the last bits of kabob at the end. My husbands favorite dishes were the rack of lamb and the kabab bareh and mine was probably the beef koobideh. I learned about this restaurant from a Reel which mentioned that they recently launched an afternoon tea service, which looked cute so I may check it out instead of brunch one weekend.

Fantastic Persian restaurant. Great food,beautiful establishment, very nice service, and friendly wait staff. The food was fantastic, very well presented, colorful, and tasty. All the food was great. There were lots of options to choose from, great entries and deserts, a huge wine list, and great appetizers. I recommend making a reservation and trying it out. You will not be disappointed. The location looks kinda dire, but once you walk in, you are pleasantly surprised the place is beautiful. Sit inside or outside on the covered seating parking area.
