More frequently used for paragliding than hang gliding, this is a great view point to look into the cascades to the west as well as looking to the wheat field across the Columbia to the east. The road is rough, there is no water or bathrooms at the top. Paragliders can be seen in the spring and summer before 1pm or so.
Great spot for sightseeing. Panorama to Lake Chelan and Columbia River. The road is somewhat rough, steep and narrow, so be prepared for some adrenalin and make sure your vehicle is in a good working condition. You must have a discovery pass to drive there.
Dropped down to check it out after hiking Chelan Butte trail. Great views.
This spot is amazing. Short atv ride but I've seen truck drive it too. But it over looks the valley from both sides
There are many take off options. You can launch toward the North, West and South. The dirt road to access the TO is quite good and we could drive up there with our rental Camry. There are not many people flying there. We met 2 paraglider pilots and saw 1 hangglider flying over a week mid July. You can do great fly from here but you'd better have a retrieve.
Don't go up there when it's wet.
